Warm Gun: The Second Coming of the Wild West A futuristic wild west, Warm Gun combines the favorite motifs of the classic western genre with the scraps of an obliterated technocracy. World War III has been fought to the tipping point and ecologists’ long unheeded cries have been silenced by the grim truth of their predictions. To the last drop of oil have the world’s resources been depleted, and only sporadic traces of modern structure can be sifted in the dust. Time ticks forward but humans must retrace their advancement back, through a history that has already been lived and to the Wild West for the second time around. We have trampled ahead to the past in muddy boots, to the United States of late 19th century. Greeted by the ghost of the wide-open country, the exhausted land is barren too, of all the old dreams we fulfilled beyond our means. This spun western lets you create your own one-of-a-kind characters and unique gangs; choose from weapons new and strange and a wider range...
Recently the Warm Gunners had a chance to do an interview for the cats over at TGN. Hopefully this will add a little more insight into our project.

Interview
TGN:Who are you?
My name is Ed Bowron. I hold the title of Producer on Warm Gun. I basically try and keep things organized, promote the mod, and I also have some creative input.
I'm Joseph Cleary, Founder and Project Lead.
TGN:Will there be a back story for this mod? Or is it mostly a new look, new weapons, and new maps.
Ed: With Warm Gun we've created a whole new world for players to explore. Everything has been modeled to fit into this futuristic world and creating back story is important to help make sense of the changes we've made to weapons and characters.
JC: We will be incorporating back story elements within the game world, kind of a subtle way for us to ease players into the game. Things like loading screens and character selection screens will be chock full of back story elements.
TGN:So far this is looking like a fairly large project. How many people are working on this?
Ed: We are growing all the time. Currently we have about 20 people from all over the world working on the project.
TGN:How experienced is your mod team? Has anyone on the team released something else in the past and has anyone done anything with the Unreal Engine?
Ed: For most of us this will be our first mod, but we have a lot of experience in the gaming world. We have developers who have graduated from gaming schools, as well there are at least 5 professional game designers on the team. As well as our art and sound teams are experienced in their field.
JC: Like Ed stated we have a bunch of first timers, most of which are trying to build portfolios to break into the industry. To compliment the rookies we also have a great bunch of veterans who have worked on professional level games, so it's a healthy variety.
TGN:You have made a point of creating a western themed game. Can we expect some lightning fast chuck wagons to go with the theme?
Ed: Vehicles are not slated for initial release but we've got so many ideas on their implementation and design that you can expect to see some in the future. Right now it will just come down to time and resources. As well as player demand.
JC: If all goes as planned you will see a single player element as well as vehicles that will really enhance the Warm Gun experience. Right now we are working on the multiplayer aspect and striving to bring it all into a feasible timeframe. Once we reach our current goals vehicles will follow...count on it.
TGN:The mod support is now out, can we expect Warm Gun to be making an appearance on the PS3?
Ed: At first I was unsure if there would be much interest in PS3 Mods, but we've received many requests to get this on the PS3. So how could we ignore such a huge market, everyone on the team will be working very hard to make Warm Gun available on the PS3.
JC: Now that we have the tools and we see the potential for a larger player base we are putting PS3 port into high priority. As soon as we reach beta you can expect to play it on the PS3.
TGN:Any final words you'd like to end on?
Ed: On behalf of the Warm Gunners we would just like to say thanks for this opportunity and you can be sure we will see this project through till the end.
JC: We really appreciate all the support, this is a game created by players for players and we are really pushing hard to bring it to life. From the entire team I'd like to say thanks for keeping the mod world informed.

Looks and sounds very interesting.
I did not expect you guys to really want to get this onto the PS3, if a PS3 download is ever available i will certainly check it out. Focus on the PC game itself, and if there is time to port it over or how ever it works go for it if you will.
