Warcraft vs Starcraft is a free modification to Blizzard Entertainment’s Warcraft III. In this game modification, we’ve paintsakingly integrated StarCraft's mechanics and art by hand so the world can see what happens when Blizzard's greatest RTS franchises duke it out!

Installation Instructions:
1. Place "WarcraftVsStarcraft.w3n" in your Warcraft/Campaigns folder.
2. Run Frozen Throne
3. Go to Singleplayer > Custom Campaigns > Warcraft vs Starcraft Beta

Welcome WVS players!

My name is Patrik, and ZanMgt has been grateful enough to allow community members like myself to continue where they left off and complete the mod!

I'm working on the first new update with some special changes:

- Trees and all decorations, etc should all be fixed!
- WC3 races are reduced in strength
- New building with units (Infestation pit + infestor + infested marines)
- Re-made melee map to fight on

Patrik is working on some more models for the Zerg so some updates will take more time before they're ready for release.

Did you really make all these assets from scratch? The hatchery model and the creep texture look like they're straight out of sc2...

The models and animations are completely fresh, but the texture maps were constructed out of separate screengrabs from within the game. In the beginning, we used using only the official screenshots, but after the Beta was released we kept the procedure to "bake" the natural specular and normal mapping into the more limited WC3 models.

Yeah the hatchery looks like its straight out of SC2, but the creep texture looks really different to me, and the models ive seen so far are very different from how they look in SC2

Also, a few questions.
1.How are you planning to balance this? The two games have very different playstyles, not to mention stats and such things like that.

2.Is this a map or a full blown mod?

3. If this is a mod, will it have its own editor?

4. If it does can you put the terran and protoss sounds so people can try to create Protoss and Terran races by themselves?

1. Aside from the adjustment of certain spells (such as War Stomp), only minor adjustments have been necessary to achieve single-player balance (for unit cost/damage ratio).

2. To simplify user deployment for our initial release, we've designed the entire game to run from a single WCX map file. The content from there could easily be imported into a separate MPQ if desired.

3. Because WC vs SC runs from a standard .WCX, it's openly accessible from any version of the World Editor.

4. Again, the map will be openly accessible, so you could do this yourself if you like!
