FIRST COME FIRST SERVE
Warcraft's Blight doesn't like to play right... So we painstakingly rebuilt it from scratch! Now, the Zerg's Creep flows up against our new Blight, and the Blight flows up against the Creep on a "first come, first serve" basis.
We had a similar system in place from a year ago, but it was just too unwieldy thanks to the WC3 Blight converting nearby tiles to dirt.
SMALL SACRIFICES
Blight heals the Undead properly, but the Creep will not give a speed bonus as per SC2. Instead, we're giving Hatcheries, Overlords and Creep Tumors a speed buff aura so we can keep the game's performance in check.
In addition, Blight and Creep will not show up on the minimap! It was either A) no Creep, or B) no Blight, because we have no other way to display changes that occur on the minimap. Hopefully this is a forgivable sacrifice.
CUSTOM BLEEP
To make the Creep & Blight's spread system work, we had to construct each of their "spread" paths by hand.
Each cell has to be placed in order, the data then exported to a text file, which then gets inputed by hand back into WC3.
The macro creation utility AutoHotKey has become a lifesaver!
NEW TILESET
We've constructed a new and improved tileset that looks much better (or atleast less blurrier) than the hand-made screen grabs taken from Blizzcon videos back in 2009.
ZERGLING BLOOD
Whilst the three of us are working on the "main attraction", Zanmgt[Gabriel] is working on a Zergling Blood map that will be playable on Battle.net utilizing the artwork and stats from WvS.

Watching Undead and Zerg fight is just madness... BOTH are endless armies.
And Like I said you could make it to were the overlord doesn't give the speed bonus all the time >.>
It's only when the Overlord is creep dropping. =)
hi, in the end of that little video there, I saw a hero that levelled up. Will you add zerg heroes as well? like Kerrigen or a hybrid?
The blight, creep looks excellent! my congratulations!, everything looks perfect actually! Although I'm a bit scared what the engine will do when too much creeps are wondering around on the map, while having such a high polygon count.

give a thinking about undead zergs? What about that?
i am watching the video and seeing the zerg and undead fighting each other. The undead seem to have quite the upper hand as the battle continues, with the undead pushing closer and closer to the hatchery. are they currently unbalanced?
All stats are left at SC2 / WC3 levels.
It's surprisingly balanced because of the fast attack speeds and lower costs of the SC2 Zerg, but at the moment our balancing is from a singleplayer "campaign" perspective. The Zerg were losing the fight in the demonstration there because both sides were getting similar numbers of units spawned, when technically the Zerg should outnumber a WC3 race during normal gameplay.
We did however have to tone down most all spells (like Warstomp) to do about 33% damage to Zerg to keep the player from stomping a Mineral line. We simply gave Zerg "66% Magic Resistance", we'll keep toning it as we go though.
Why I think that "sc2's wc3/sc2 units balance" (omg don't know how to say that) was made so wc3 and sc2 could be merged at the the new blizzard's game somethingcraft. If so.. you are making demo of that game :D.
If you're thinking of Blizzard DoTA all stars, then you are waaaaaaaay off. If not, I dont know what you could possibly be referring to, cuz bliz is not developing such a game.
I don't like DotA and I haven't thought of it at all ... Why you think that I had in mind DotA O_O' ... I was more about an epic strategy game.

I think Zanmgt uses unbuildable path as creep to prevent owned by blight! so all zerg buildings are with no paths so it can build at unbuildable while undead path is blight. brilliant!
