Warcraft Total War Alpha 1 Release

Features the Azeroth campaign map with seven factions (Lordaeron, Quel'Thalas, The Scourge, The Horde, Theramore, Night Elves, Burning Legion) using vanilla unit rosters as placeholders.

It has been over 3 years since I first began this project. Since then, team members have come and gone, significant progress was made and some was devastatingly lost. I myself have gone from knowing nothing about modding to being in a position to release this early, working build of the Warcraft Total War mod. This alpha 1 release is basically a campaign map demo with the factions using vanilla unit rosters as placeholders. Going forward, we hope to make incremental improvements and additions to the mod and release these updates accordingly. For now, enjoy this early build of Warcraft Total War.

Requirements:
- a clean installation of Medieval 2 Total War patched to 1.3
- a clean installation of the Kingdoms expansion patched to 1.5

Download Mirrors:

Mediafire.com

Instructions:
1. Download and unrar
2. Place the WTW folder in Medieval 2 Total War\mods
3. Run the .bat
4. Enjoy!

Don't worry, it won't take long I hope. I wanted to have at least one faction with custom units but if the unit making process takes too long (right now the modellers are handling the start of school/university so it slowed down) I'll just release the non-unit improvements.

I think the Alpha sucks.. There was no warcraft units, only medieval 2 vanilla units.. Not the orcs in the pictures or the humans in the same.

Well if you bothered to look it up you'd know that we lost those units here presented. New ones are currently being made but anyway the Alpha was released more as a "here play with this a bit guys" while we focus on doing the actual mod. The released Alpha contains very little of what is currently done. I'm working on a better Alpha, so the next version should be incomparably better.
