Warcraft Total War Alpha 1 Release

Features the Azeroth campaign map with seven factions (Lordaeron, Quel'Thalas, The Scourge, The Horde, Theramore, Night Elves, Burning Legion) using vanilla unit rosters as placeholders.

It has been over 3 years since I first began this project. Since then, team members have come and gone, significant progress was made and some was devastatingly lost. I myself have gone from knowing nothing about modding to being in a position to release this early, working build of the Warcraft Total War mod. This alpha 1 release is basically a campaign map demo with the factions using vanilla unit rosters as placeholders. Going forward, we hope to make incremental improvements and additions to the mod and release these updates accordingly. For now, enjoy this early build of Warcraft Total War.

Requirements:
- a clean installation of Medieval 2 Total War patched to 1.3
- a clean installation of the Kingdoms expansion patched to 1.5

Download Mirrors:
Moddb.com
Mediafire.com

Instructions:
1. Download and unrar
2. Place the WTW folder in Medieval 2 Total War\mods
3. Run the .bat
4. Enjoy!

I have a problem with the mod. When I load it up it shows the background I'd expect (WoW background), there are some factions of the Mod in the custom battle menu but the troops aren't modified. Loaded up a custom map regardless, hoping to get it to work. Screen loaded, all the troops on both sides died instantly and the map turned to water??? Please help me :(

EDIT: Just did a quick game and it loaded fine. I got given Khaz Modan. Problem is that the unit models are vanilla so I basically have a normal army only the units all have peasant cards and are untextured (so they are golden/silver). Basically it's a mess. Any advice happily taken on board :) (I did the installation as per the instructions).

Remember, this is still Alpha stage and the FIRST alpha at that. At least he has the map down, He did do an excellent job on the map so I hope he keeps up the good work.

I can't find the .bat/.exe file! I downloaded the game and unziped it, then I threw the WTW paste with the files on the mods paste in medieval II, but all it is in is a "custom" paste, a "data" paste and a .cfg file. Is it there, I just can't see it, or did I do something wrong?
