WarCraft III: World of WarCraft (Wc3:WoW) is the most accurate WoW replica mod for WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, featuring many elements as WoW does. It is a Single Player Campaign and the WarCraft III engine does not allow Campaigns to be played online or even on LAN. Wc3:WoW is currently being developed by a group of developers who hope to become pro some day called Condemned Entertainment. Previously, the team was given the simple 'Wc3:WoW Team' title, but after realizing it wasn't a professional team title to stick with, the team name was changed. Right now, the leader of Wc3:WoW is Craka_J, who had led the project through tedious development for over 4 years.

The Wc3:WoW Team is back from the dead and is working on rebuilding itself and the mod.

Just when we thought the project had died forever, it comes back. A few weeks after the 1.24 patch's impact on Wc3:WoW, nearly the entire team quit, following myself. However, despite my busyness with school and indie game development, I think I could get back to terraining Wc3:WoW for the fun of it. It was a real bummer when the team left last time and I wanted it to be playable, but this time, I just want to finish a lot of the terrain. So, I started re-recruiting the team yesterday. So far it's just me and a new vJASS expert, Yixx. Welcome him aboard! As for other guys like Shamanyouranus and Eleandor, I've yet to get a response, but it's only been a day, so can't get edgey.

Fortunately for you guys, terrain won't be my only priority with Wc3:WoW. Though it's what I care about most this time, guys like Yixx will be ensuring that the mod is playable hopefully soon after he gets started. Haven't assigned him a To Do List just yet, but he seems super excited to get started. We're using vJASS only this time, meaning, no GUI spells and triggers. This mod is going to be purely coded for the best performance, quality, and security. I might even make a list of all the reasons why it's going to be in vJASS so I have fewer people asking why we're doing it. Anyway, I'll be reinstalling WarCraft III on my computer when I get home and get started on terraining. Will also work on expanding the team too - hopefully that goes well.

I apologize for the months of zero progress. It was unavoidable. But now it's back and I'll try to get some stuff done enough to show off, although, I don't have enough money to purchase a game card for World of Warcraft, so... not sure if I'll be able to roll in huge amounts of progress on terrain. Back to screenshots on Google Images I guess!

PS: I'd like to send a special thanks to all those who continue to support Wc3:WoW with their everlasting interest in the mod and comments. I especially thank the few guys who've contributed by creating models and textures on our public to do list; it has helped SO MUCH! THANK YOU!

Keep your eye on us... we'll be back with visuals most likely next time.

[EDIT]:
Expect a News update this weekend or next week. It will contain eye-candy!

Thanks. I can't say the mod has a bright future, but I'm giving up on releasing this project as a perfect playable mod. From some observations, I see that the best mods are released early, even in their terribly buggy and hardly entertaining stages. Although I won't go too extreme on the releasing a public BETA, I will try to make the mod enjoyable in some way. If the features aren't enough for you in the game, hopefully the terrains are.

Wow. I am an idiot. Just found out I can open the campaign in 1.23 but just not in 1.24. So, we can save the triggers and delete the bad ones, then just continue to build off of that. Not sure if that will work as well as my theory goes, but if it's true that it'll work, our frustration and the project's death was pretty much pointless since it could have been avoided... will probably include further details in next News post.
