British Special Forces are limited. You have the SAS, which, though well trained, are more like the Russian Spetsnaz in that they range from being equivalent to Army Rangers (Bear Gryll's former regiment, for example) to Army Special Forces, to SFOD-D. You have the Special Boat Service to perform frogmen duties. However, no one in the SpecOps community would be daft enough to differentiate the qualitative training of one nations forces to another; again, betraying your ignorance. Door-kickers are generally equal in skills, whether they are Mirko Cro-Cop types or SAS door-kickers, or DEVGRU dudes. The difference in the community lies mainly in the special abilities, such as the frogmen, recon units, etc, and their support units.

If irony could humiliate, much less kill..... ;D Cheers.

In respect to training, you have a point. The British Army is, surprisingly, still trained to a high standard, being one of the few exceptions in respect to the dying British military. However, the U.S. Army is well trained, and the U.S. Marine Corps is trained to the highest standard of any infantry force in the world. Furthermore, the Marine Corps has the greatest warrior culture of any force on Earth, further enhancing its lethality on the field of combat. As well, U.S. Special Forces assets are the best supported, most numerous and well trained on Earth. The Marine Corps of the United States is roughly twice the size of the British army, not factoring in the considerable reserve forces of the Corps. So, our smallest and least funded branch is superior in quality and quantity to your entire army. So....?

As for British forces being trained to the standard of American special forces, you further betray your woeful ignorance and militant displacement. By saying special forces, you denote an enclave of our military that covers the entire spectrum, from Air Force Pararescueman, to SEALs, to Rangers, Army Special Forces, SFOD-D, et cetera et cetera... And no, your infantry is not trained up to the standards of even Marine Infantry, much less Army Rangers or Army Special Forces. You are either misinformed or delusional; I'll assume the former out of respect.

What case? Everything you've said is either wrong, or just completely non-sensical. Case-in-point; you said America is a world power because your army fights well. What? Do you understand anything about combat, or being a world power? Firstly, being a world power isn't defined by military - it's mostly about economy. Secondly, even in military terms, the US Army does not fight well - the reasons they are dominant are numbers and technology, but they have a ridiculously high incidence of friendly fire. The British Army is infinitely better trained; a British regular is trained up to the standard that the US special forces are trained, and British special forces are among the finest on the planet.

I have no distaste for Americans as such, but idiots like you are the reason that the world does.

I've studied combat and world history for years, so I know something about combat; I am here to elucidate your ignorance.

Economically, America is preeminent, and will remain so indefinitely. China hasn't the economic infrastructure to overtake us, and Europe is a demographic powder keg and a den of soft power and societal weakness. When America goes down, no one will be able to take our place.

In regards to our military, we are technologically advanced beyond all nations & transnational coalitions. This technology is almost entirely indigenous, as opposed to British combat systems which are generally either poorly designed local creations fraught with problems such as the SA80, or weapons systems jointly developed with other European powers that are massively inferior to their American counterpart (See: Eurofighter Typhoon vs. F-22).

In respect to numbers, the U.S. military is woefully undermanned and small. The Bush I army that smashed the Republican Guard and Iraqi Regular Army no longer exists. The force that destroyed the Ba'athist regime was a fraction of the size that steamrolled through Kuwait and Western Iraq. We were once capable of winning one front and holding another in the event of two major wars; a modest capability for a power as dominant as that of the 1980's United States. We are now barely able to hold ground in two, much less win in one front.

Ok, so you're criticising Britain for being small? Britain had ruled the world longer than America had been inhabited by whites. I like how you blindly attack England when your country is criticised. Besides, it's bloody stupid that Brits and Americans argue over which country is better or worse, because Americans ARE pretty much Brits, or atleast descended from them. And 3x3 miles of land is a gross underestimation. Go read wikipedia, that's what it's there for.

Well, for all I know Britains currency IS foreign :P

I can clearly remmember reading that the Romans intruduced it back in the ancient, so it might be a little farfetched to realy count, I´m just trying to straight out the facts a little.

And ZeroG, your comment ultimately failed in succeeding (wich i hope you tried) to stem the quarrel about britain and america. D3ADM4N was clearly just trying to make a point with that 3x3 miles thing, america (or USA) is clearly bigger than britain, and if he wasn´t... Well, 50% americans can´t place sweden on the map either but i dont flame about that :P

Take in consideration that this comment in NO way is meant to fuel a fire somewhere, and I might have gotten a few things wrong, so dont try to look for "faults" in my comment.

Thx, peace out
