The Unofficial Patch is not really a mod, but while the default basic patch only fixes bugs, the optional plus patch restores a lot of hidden content, including new quests and new maps!

Get it from Patches-scrolls.de (Germany), Patches.planetvampire.com (Canada) or Patches2.planetvampire.com (France).

This time the setup has been changed, so now the patch will install itself into a subfolder of the main game directory called Unofficial_Patch and you need to start the game either via the desktop icon or start menu entry or manually using the classic Source mod -game parameter. That way several mods can easily be installed parallel on one vanilla game version! Thanks for this go to Behar, who not only created the Game Mod Loader but included all previous dll fixes into it as well!

The patch also includes two new maps, the Malkavian Maze and the Warrens Shortcut. Special thanks go to Psycho-A for the continuous improvement of the Bloodline SDK which made creating maps possible in the first place. Thanks also go to EntenSchreck who supplied me raw drafts of both maps which I finished in Hammer, to Psycho-A and atrblizzard for optimizing them in several ways and the two older new maps too, and last not least to No_Mercy, who showed no mercy at all discussing each minor detail in all of the new levels that could be improved ;)! And as always to my beta-testers...

Yes, the changelog is included in the readme with each patch. It would be too large to post here anyway ;)!

Both should work. The shortcut can be used if you start the game from outside Steam. When you use the Steam launcher you need to change the launch options there.

So I recently got the game (never played it before, though I've been meaning to for years now).
Just came here to congratulate you on a job well done, I've heard the official game was filled with bugs and even though I'm still in Holywood in my 1st playthrough, what I'm playing is a masterpiece.

So, now that the compliment bit of my post is done with, I'd like to know if there is a link or name to the tune that plays in the Library level that Becket sends you (which I assume wasn't in the official game).

The name of the composition is "Come Around", it's an original unused Bloodlines piece by Rik Schaffer, and it can be found in the sound/music subfolder.

Sorry if the question is absurd but I'm new at this. Can I use the companion mod with this last patch? In the compmod description says it uses the 6.something version. BTW many thanks to the author. It just blows my mind the dedication to this magnificent game after so many years.

Sorry, but this is not possible. No major Bloodlines mods or patches are compatible with each other...

Exactly what AmericanCrime said: "AN essential Bloodlines patch/mod. It fixes almost everything inherently wrong with the vanilla game and aims to enhance the experience as well by restoring content. Highly Recommended!!!!!" This is the TRUE patch for any loyal fan of the game. There is absolutely no reason to not use this patch over any other patch, that claims to be, 'official'. All the mods for the game, use this patch as their foundation & regularly update to work alongside this masterpiece…
