The Unofficial Patch is not really a mod, but while the default basic patch only fixes bugs, the optional plus patch restores a lot of hidden content, including new quests and new maps!

Get it from Patches-scrolls.de (Germany), Patches.planetvampire.com (Canada) or Patches2.planetvampire.com (France).

This time the setup has been changed, so now the patch will install itself into a subfolder of the main game directory called Unofficial_Patch and you need to start the game either via the desktop icon or start menu entry or manually using the classic Source mod -game parameter. That way several mods can easily be installed parallel on one vanilla game version! Thanks for this go to Behar, who not only created the Game Mod Loader but included all previous dll fixes into it as well!

The patch also includes two new maps, the Malkavian Maze and the Warrens Shortcut. Special thanks go to Psycho-A for the continuous improvement of the Bloodline SDK which made creating maps possible in the first place. Thanks also go to EntenSchreck who supplied me raw drafts of both maps which I finished in Hammer, to Psycho-A and atrblizzard for optimizing them in several ways and the two older new maps too, and last not least to No_Mercy, who showed no mercy at all discussing each minor detail in all of the new levels that could be improved ;)! And as always to my beta-testers...

You mentioned there will be a 9.3 patch soon. Is there a site or blog that we can get more details on future patches.

I'm most active on Planet Vampire but until the patch is released, I normally keep it quiet ;). I can say though that 9.3 will include two new small from scratch levels and a big surprise about the installation...

Can I safely install companion mod (1.4) on unofficial patch 9.2?

No! Companion mod includes an older version of the UP, but it is not compatible with the latest one.

Well, given that companion mod is together with your patch probably the most popular mode (and as you said, earlier was included in the installation) can not you consider possibility put it as an optional choice in the installation of the patch?

No. The companion mod is one of the most complicated mods out there and very prone to errors, as the Antitribu Mod shows, which is based upon it! The CQM tried to include a Companion Mod light which was very much work...

This is really unfortunate :-(
(BTW Antitribu is full of error even without companion Mod)
Anyway, companion Mod is built upon the 5.6 Unofficial Patch and Includes the latest binary updates from the 6.0 Unofficial Patch. Can not you just swap the older files with the new ones?

I can do a complete beta test something like this and will report potential problems.

No, to spawn companions each map has to be changed and the maps have been modified a lot since version 6.0! Also this is much more than a patch or restoration as this was never planned by Troika...

Ok, ok, I surrender.

Can you at least say that if you will have time (and mood) in future, you can look at it?

Feel free to lie, I do not mind.

Not really. You see, I think although Dheu's contribution to Bloodlines modding was enormous, he went quite over the top with the companion mod! Like how some of the powerful vampires are bound or the constant teleporting which kills immersion.

To be honest, I dont install the companion mod because of fighting partners (I do not use them). I just love the idea having dominated Jeanette or Denzel in my haven.

I guess you can not be convinced to add only this, or am I wrong? :-)

While it would be easy to add Jeanette to your haven, as soon as you want to take her with you every map needs to be changed. And who is supposed to be Denzel?

My bad, "Damsel" (but Velvet is also hot).

If you could skip all that rubbish with possession and fighting partners, but keep ability dominate females and send them to haven... It would made you my favorite Moder!

By the way, thank you for your answers, I really appreciate it.

You have to understand that VTMB is very old and it's method of handle mods aren't the same as today's 'mod-friendly' game such as Skyrim and the likes.

So, no file swapping, no arrange load order, no everything. VTMB mods need to be specifically tailored into working together by someone who actually know what's he doing.

Sorry to break it buddy. ;)

Exactly what AmericanCrime said: "AN essential Bloodlines patch/mod. It fixes almost everything inherently wrong with the vanilla game and aims to enhance the experience as well by restoring content. Highly Recommended!!!!!" This is the TRUE patch for any loyal fan of the game. There is absolutely no reason to not use this patch over any other patch, that claims to be, 'official'. All the mods for the game, use this patch as their foundation & regularly update to work alongside this masterpiece…
