The Unofficial Patch is not really a mod, but while the default basic patch mostly only fixes bugs, the optional plus patch, that can be choosen at installation, is like a restoration mod adding a lot of unfinished content, including new quests, maps, weapons, items, characters, dialogue, graphics, models, sounds and music!

Wesp, I just wanted to thank you for taking care of Bloodlines all these years. Every once in a while I decide i'm going to play through the game again, and every time you've got a new patch for me. Everything works fine, and I have working widescreen support. Just... thanks.

Also, what do you do for a living if you don't mind saying? Did you go into game development of any kind or is this just a hobby for you?

I'm an analytical chemist in real life, patching Bloodlines is just a hobby to me :)!

Interesting. Did you know there has been happening a major controversy over here in brazil about this phosphoethanolamine that many people are claiming that cures or treats cancer?

I'm not aware of that but as far as I know there isn't a definite cure for cancer yet...

"Failed to load the Launcher .dll The specified Module could not be found" error after clean install from DVD image and following instructions to the letter installing this patch.
Do I still need to install it to the Steam folder if it's a non-steam copy?

Got it working, Applied the fixes suggested in the readme, but firstly, I re-installed cleanly to the steam/steamapps/common folder-->Applied patch-->Added the patch (NOT the original game .exe) to the games list in steam as a non-steam game, and using Steam to launch it works stupendously. This is a non-steam copy, so that's worth noting.
Add that to your readme as a possible fix maybe?
Looks a lot cleaner than the original. Now my only question is, are there any other mods here on this website that you are certain will work with this fine-tuned patch of yours? What can I add from this site without tarnishing your work, since I have played through this game four or five times now?
I'm so very excited, as a VTMB, VTM:Tabletop, and VTM Larper from back in the 90's, you made my day with this. :)

If you use a DVD version the patch should have worked if pointed to the game directory whereever it would be. As for other mods, texture mods and alternate skins are fine, everything else would probably interfere. Especially the big mods like Companion Mod, Clan Quest Mod, Camarilla Edition, The Final Nights or Antitribu Mod are not compatible with each other and the patch, but the all include older version of the patch anyway!

Thanks for the heads up. As far as it goes, this didn't work until I applied it through the "tricking steam" method. This was a mounted DVD image, created from the original game discs because I knew to do so back in the day, and now have them backed up as a digital image. Not the actual discs, but consolidated to one single DVD-Image (ISO). I have a VG Design degree, so I'm sure that was the only fix, for my system anyway. I did 4 clean uninstall/installs and applied the patch the same way, none of which worked. I tried the steam path, and it worked like a champ first try.
Already headed to the Asylum, playing a Toreador, as it's one I never played through with before.
Cheers man, your patch is working for me now.

Hey I just got this game for my birthday... it was a childhood favourite and I'm super excited to play it. Installed VTMB on to windows 10, auto play screen loads but nothing happens when I click on play OR uninstall... demo shield shows briefly then nothing happens. So I downloaded your latest patch 9.4 which created a new desktop icon... however when I click on the new icon (even when running as administrator and set to compatibility with windows xp) I get an error message that says 'Failed to load the launcher DLL: the specified module could not be found.' Please help is there any way I can play the game? Thankyou.

Are you sure you installed the patch into the right directory? The installer defaults to the original Steam path but in case you changed this the game wont work...

Honestly, there isn't much that can be said that can give this impressive amount of hard work enough credit. The dedication put in by all of the people working on this patch is incredible, and I truly appreciate all that is done with every single update. Wesp5 and the VTMB unofficial patch crew, thank you. Honestly, the only reason I continue to play this game is to see just what you folks put in or restore next. I have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work! To give more of an explanation…
