The Unofficial Patch is not really a mod, but while the default basic patch only fixes bugs, the optional plus patch restores a lot of hidden content, including new quests and new maps!

But I have a suggestion to you guys as well.

For instance, would you guys consider changing vehicle models with hd ones? (with glass windows and everything?) Because some of the vehicle models on the game right now looks like they were made in 1995. (especially the crashed car model at the beginning of the game. You know, the one you see next to an NPC. Quality difference is too much.)

I won't do this in the patch but I would appreciate if people would work together for a HD texture update of the whole game that could be installed on top of the patch!

Yeah, I understand, but you know that's very unlikely to happen. Not many people working on the game as actively as you guys do. And some models are ridiculously lover poly than others. (Like that one car model I mentioned. It looks like it was ripped from a game made in 1995. Totally immersion breaking.) It is more of a oversight than a bug, when they updated the meshes during the development, they didn't have much time left and they left a few things here and there. Game would benefit if those were fixed.

The problem is that model editing is the worst part of modding Bloodlines and I hoped the crashed car wasn't so obvious between the cars. After all it's a Yugo and they look that bad ;)!

While I agree with you on Yugo's looking bad to begin with, even they are not that square. (I mean, even Yugo's have some curves.) It is so low poly that it sticks out too much and it is really obvious. Also the guy who crashed the car looks and talks like he is some big shot, like he is disgusted by Santa Monica or something, (like he is looking down on people) it doesn't make much sense that he would drive a Yugo in the first place, even if it is a company car or whatnot. But I digress.

I understand it is not easy to swap meshes and add models to the Bloodlines since it is basically on the beta version of the source engine. (which didn't have much support to begin with) But it should be a bit easier to edit idle models rather than editing models with animations. All I am asking is, give it a try if you can spare some time to work on it. (and again, it is alright if you can't spare the time.) Game wouldn't look as old if you could iron out some of the most obvious low poly models and you know it! :D

I figured better a bad car than none at all which contradicts everything the guy is saying and no other car would have fit there anyway!

As for model editing, I don't know if adding more polys is even possible! I'll leave that for when there will be nothing else to do anymore.

I see your point, but it should be possible since cab model for instance is of much higher poly than anything else in the game to begin with. If I remember it correctly, it is made out of several models instead of just a single and solid one. (just like the vehicles in HL1) Since all vehicles are stationary all the time, that shouldn't be much of a problem at all. (but I can still see how difficult it is, don't get me wrong.) As for Yugo, it should be possible since it is such a low poly mesh and there should be a lot more wiggle room. Heck, I would say throw in a extra motorcycle for added realism. (just kidding.. kinda. would be cool though.)

Either way, I made my point. Thanks for listening and taking it into consideration. All there is left to say is, keep up the good work my friend. Best of luck!

Honestly, there isn't much that can be said that can give this impressive amount of hard work enough credit. The dedication put in by all of the people working on this patch is incredible, and I truly appreciate all that is done with every single update. Wesp5 and the VTMB unofficial patch crew, thank you. Honestly, the only reason I continue to play this game is to see just what you folks put in or restore next. I have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work! To give more of an explanation…
