Report RSS Clan Quest Mod 3.0 - January 13th Release Date

Clan Quest Mod 3.0 will be released January 13th with a slew of new content, including a new quest, several new mini-quests and Easter eggs, and more.

Posted by on

If you're starting to wonder when the next installation of Clan Quest Mod is available, you'll be happy to hear that the ducks are in a row now, and the official release date for CQM 3.0 is set for January 13th. That's a Friday, so you'll have plenty of time to enjoy a fresh run through this old gem, with some brand new content.

What new content can you expect? Take a gander at the feature list below.

Kuei-Jin Themed Quest: Expect a new, extensive quest available to all clans that exposes much of the lore of the Kuei-Jin in greater depth. The quest starts in Chinatown, introducing a new NPC, Kalliyan, and leads you through a crazy night all through L.A.

Fu Syndicate Non-Combat Solution: The Fu Syndicate where you rescue Barabus, is lopped in with a lot of the other end game scenarios, as a combat-heavy situation that really sits out of place with the rest of the game's feel. It's also one of the buggiest and error prone parts of the game! Now clever players will have an alternative to the Fu Syndicate, freeing Barabus without ever confronting the Mandarin.

Hollywood Warrens Non-Combat Solution: Searching the warrens for the Nosferatu is largely considered one of the worst parts of this game, and is a part that I personally dread every time I have a run at Bloodlines. Well, no more! Now you can speak with Bertram to avoid having to do things 'the hard way'.

New Cut Scenes: The Kuei-Jin quest features quite a few short cut scenes, but the Malkavian clan quest has been beefed up with a cut scene showing what happens to (poor) Bertram. Those of you that have played this quest before, know that the Baron of Santa Monica (whomever she is), works with you to conspire against Tung – but now you can see first hand exactly how she dispatches him for good.

Malkavian Easter Egg & MiniQuest: The Malkavians having a somewhat lacking amount of content before, and a HUGE fan base, have been endowed with a few more clan specific features. Look for a light hearted Easter egg in Hollywood, and a mini quest that starts in Santa Monica, which should leave you reminiscing of your friend, the stop sign.

Integration with Companion Mod: What I am dubbing Comp Mod Lite, will be among the installation options available during Setup with this edition. Great care has been taken to bring in other mods and integrate them into the installer so you can experience other peoples' hard work at modding Bloodlines, so it's way past due that one of the heavy hitters, Companion Mod, make its way onto this list. You can keep Heather and Yukie as companions as well as embrace one or the other.

The Prince's Cut Scene & Other Small Easter Eggs: Keep a close eye on the Prince's chamber for a clue leading to a new cut scene featuring LaCroix and the Sheriff. Likewise, there are a few other small Easter eggs, including some political campaigning circa 2004, and a look into Struass' personal life.

Strauss' Upgrade: Member of clan Brujah have raved about the excellence in being able to confront Strauss in combat in previous versions of CQM, but lament at his lack of Thaumaturgy during the battle. That changes as of CQM 3.0, making the fight even tougher. Aside from his pet Blood Guardians, Strauss now uses his full ensemble of spells against the headstrong rabbles.

Toreador Stealth Mission Improvement: The Toreador previously have helped the new NPC, Sascha, escape from the Giovanni mansion, but the 'stealthy' route, was rather dubious at best, but that has been improved. Expect this part of the Toreador clan quest to be much more sensible.

Synchronization with Unofficial Patch 7.9: The latest edition of the Unofficial Patch, 7.9, has been integrated into Clan Quest Mod, bringing you the latest bug fixes and restored content, courtesy of Wesp.

Take a look at the preview video posted above and be looking forward to the middle of next month!

January eh? Cool, can't wait.

A question about the companion mod addition: What all have you integrated? (Only Heather and Yukie as companions, or are there some others as well?)

The Companions are not forced upon you. You can ignore this aspect of the Mod!

Saw the vid of how Bertram dies, and it fits perfectly well with Therese. If Jeanette is supposed to do the same thing, that's where I'm feeling like it's out of character. I mean, Jeanette never seemed like a killer to me.

Happy New Year everyone!

Is it possible to simply patch the Mod with the Unifficial German Patch 7.9 (and so on) afterwards? (My copy is in German and I recognized a mixture of English and German dialogues ingame).

Thx a lot ;)
