Amazing modification. I love the setting and the work behind it, creating an amazing feeling while playing a saxon, norman, rus or even a Vikingr berserkr!
Relating to melee combat, Vikingr is the best modification of warband. Sad to see interest went down.

Would love to see you working on though.

Whenever I play Mount&Blade, may it be singleplayer, old and new mods or basic Native, I have the most fun when playing Vikingr. Whenever I yearn for an intense hour of medieval combat in a great atmosphere, I choose Vikingr and it has not let me down so far.
Since many features have been mentioned already, I'd like to point out one individual aspect:

Vikingr creates a completely new level of intense fighting.
Why? - It actually gives you a real challenge.
In Native or many other mods, the feeling of being eternally superior (SP) or scoring "just another kill" (MP) decreases the satisfaction of success. In Vikingr however, this inflationary effect won't occur. Killing someone or even just surviving a round can be immensely rewarding, since it's no longer understood.
The battles are more brutal. You will cherish the moment when you loose your weapon after being bumped by a horse, take out your seax and defend yourself until your spear-brothers rush to your help. Bloody and bruised, you are glad that you survived the attack and brace yourself for charging yourself.

Whoever wants to be one step closer to a realistic fight and is searching for an intense, rewarding gameplay based on team-effort (!!), will have to try this mod.

I love this mode =)
I really like this mod because I love the history of the Viking Age and themselves the Vikings. I am grateful to the developers of this mod for their work. I wish that this was a unique mod in everything, for example, the design of players in historical names / nicknames. I wish good luck to the developers of mod in their work, and I will support their work and mod my of powers and abilities.

Great atmosphere, great community, great gameplay, great features, and there is still more great things to come :D

Seriously though, I love this mod. It is what I always wanted Mount and Blade to be*. The most noticable things are the changes to archery and cavalry. They are both limited in use and decreased in power. Archery is less accurate and feels more real. Cavalry is more vulnerable and actually has to be careful of their horses. Due to these changes and being a bit more vulnerable in general this mod really encourages teamplay! :)

Only downside is that it's still in beta phase, so sometimes things don't work as desired, but it's mostly details. The base of the mod is there and provides much better gameplay then the native version.

*Almost, sadly there are some engine limitations.
