After more than two years since the release of the first version the Vikingr development team is proud to present Vikingr 1.0. In the attempt to represent a wide selection of the old northern european peoples the Engle, Normant, Rus and Goídil have received a lot of attention in the previous patches. With this patch, after much tweaking and polishing, the Norðmenn themselves see a final overhaul with much of their old content reworked and expanded, to take their worthy place as namesake of the mod.
Main changes for 1.00
Class System:
Raised most class limits
All leaders now receive a basic helmet by default
Added longbow to scytta weapon selection
Added free starting sword for Gallgoidel and Swurdberend
Added single-edged sword to Ceithernach
Increased price penalty on swords for Druzhinnik by 30%
Conte and Voevoda no longer reserve a cavalry class slot
Script & Mechanics:
Fixed inconsistencies with weapon dropping
All helmet prices lowered by 25%
Default item selection now pre-sorted by small script
Helmet hair is now consistent when getting a cheaper helmet due to lacking funds
The buying menu now gets automatically opened when receiving 'loser bonus'
Fixed small glitches and bugs in menu buttons
Fixed class colours in scoreboard
Cavalry:
Slightly Increased health for horses
Made dismounting on bumping more random and rare
Increased cavalry lance base damage
Decreased cost for using spear supplies
Longaxes receive a damage bonus against horses
Admin options:
Added 'move to spectator' option
Enabled triggering a pre-written disclaimer about clan banners
Equipment:
Overhauled and expanded helmet selection for Norðmenn
Created additional axes for Liði
Added new round shield patterns for Norðmenn
Added new norman and viking gambeson armour variations
Reworked old Norman kite shields
Overhauled Norman, viking and some shared tunics
Overhauled some Norman helmet designs
Fixed inconsistencies with scabbards
Made torch unable to block or be sheathed
Made short spear unable to block
Other Content:
New icons for all factions
New main theme by Nordous
Updated custom battle bots and hero descriptions
Replaced some old banner designs

Being a longstanding MM player, pretty much since when they started the mod, i must admit i'm a bit dissapointed by Vincenzo and Lord_Olafson's reactions on this page. I renember MM's less glorious times, the ones i cherish the most, where Lcatt, Dante, Atkivir, Dale and a few other players still played the mod while it had all but died down, on some evenings where there were more then 20 players online it really was -ALOT- for us and we were all happy. Then came MM Waterloo, and all of the sudden…

I totally agree with what Vincenzo said, the mod is totally buggy, I remeber alot of rigging bugs as well as missing AI meshes. When I destroyed a house, the house model didnt change (wtf!) it was still the same, I couldnt see any difference between the destroyed and the not destroyed model. Second time I destroyed a house, I was kicked over the whole map, and I died when I hit the ground.... Also the bots which spawn when a house is destroyed are annoying, most of the maps dont have a AI mesh…

There seems to be some confusion about the state of the mod and this page. Only this page is not updated anymore, but the mod is not dead or cancelled but continues development. If you want to download the most recent version you should take a look at our sub board on the taleworlds forums found here:

I didn't play M&B for some time and now I come back and see this mod has ceased development :(, but I have one last question and hope somebody of you will read it: What is the music of the title screen called. Everytime when I started the game I wanted to know how it's called.
i can be all the four but the bots are still one of the four, any sulution for that?
expect for the normanz and rus there is it 2 of the four, one of this are calavary

if i do multiplayer, start battle and playing with bots on team deathmatch, i can only be one of the four catogories, and not four also the bots can be one of the four. is there any solusion for that?

Just change the class limits as they are listed far down on the admin panel, if you set all of them to 100 you should be able to take every class.
Can´t you make this to single player to? Like de invasion of Britannia or something like that?
Can't connect to server says it has a 9.437 or some crap version of mount and blade and I have 1.143? what?
Since we recently implemented the warband script enhancer (WSE), you have to start the game differently than other mods. If you open your warband folder, there should be a subfolder called "modules". If you open the "Vikingr" folder in there you should find another one called "WSE". If you run the "WSELoader.exe" inside it you will get the normal mod selection screen and can play with all the extended scripting that is needed.
