By the year 968 AD war had been waged for generations between the Goídil natives of Ireland and settlers from the north. After the first years of the great onslaught on the English kingdoms many great battles were fought between the Anglo-Saxon heptarchy kings and the Viking invaders, and soon Norse warfleets were seen in the Irish Sea itself. Rowing up the rivers to raid the Gaelic villages and monasteries, the "Ostmen" soon established the longphorts, shore fortresses to harbour their fleets, which evolved into powerful cities controlling the lands.

Yet the warlike Goídil did not yield their homelands and many tribes resisted the foreign invaders in long and scathing wars, with Viking and Gaelic villages burning likewise in the many raids. Others approached the Norse with agreements and trade, some even fighting their neighbouring tribes with the help of their new allies and rising to great power. And so the Viking cities soon were part of the ancient tribal struggles for power, in which the most powerful Goídil kings were aspiring to no less than the old title of high kingship over all Ireland.

Fewer people play during Christmas/New Year due to having to attend to family and social stuff, and it takes a few days to readjust afterwards, but right now you'll find people playing on Hildileikr (the official server) again in the evenings, around 8-10 pm CET. The last few evenings we've had around 25 players.

I hate multiplayer mods cause there really a waste of time cause the only way u can really play it is if other people r playing it too and now most servers are for persistent world/frontier full invasion or native and Napoleonic so most multiplayer mods r a waste of time and this mod is amazing and has real potentially but I was disappointed with the lack of singleplayer

Being a longstanding MM player, pretty much since when they started the mod, i must admit i'm a bit dissapointed by Vincenzo and Lord_Olafson's reactions on this page. I renember MM's less glorious times, the ones i cherish the most, where Lcatt, Dante, Atkivir, Dale and a few other players still played the mod while it had all but died down, on some evenings where there were more then 20 players online it really was -ALOT- for us and we were all happy. Then came MM Waterloo, and all of the sudden…

I totally agree with what Vincenzo said, the mod is totally buggy, I remeber alot of rigging bugs as well as missing AI meshes. When I destroyed a house, the house model didnt change (wtf!) it was still the same, I couldnt see any difference between the destroyed and the not destroyed model. Second time I destroyed a house, I was kicked over the whole map, and I died when I hit the ground.... Also the bots which spawn when a house is destroyed are annoying, most of the maps dont have a AI mesh…
