(buried)

I guess it makes sense to put in planes, such as the F14, that weren't even created until after the war...

The F-14s first deployment was aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, which covered the withdrawal of Saigon. While technically they did not see combat (and, I believe, were anti-air only), for the purposes of the mod and the fact we have the Enterprise it makes sense to have them on it.

F-14s first deployment was abroad the U.S.S. Enterprise which, covered the withdrawal of Saigon. I believe the squadrons were VF-1 (wolf pack) and VF-2 (bounty hunters) Thought, neither saw any combat!
Used for service testings

F14's are really a thing of the 80s when it comes to perceivence its liek putting P80's in ww2

didnt serve or fight in it, neither does it fits the image of the 40's but it was used very much in the Korean war & it fits the image of that perfectly

A4's F4's fit the image better, Im sorry its a perfect 3d model & animation but it really feels off

Well the term "combat" has a broad meaning, while they were deployed to the Vietnam theater, during a number of sorties they were at times fired on by enemy anti-aircraft which can count as in combat, for there was an enemy & the enemy was engaging the them.
