"Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories PC Edition" is a Total Conversion Modification for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, bringing you a port that Rockstar never gave you. In this modification we will be converting the map, all the characters, vehicles and weapons from the ORIGINAL game files as well as porting the games weather system and atmosphere. In this modification will also be a set amount of storyline missions and side missions which will increase with each BETA release, other things will also be available such as a redesigned menu, new neon lights, HUD, radio stations, etc as well as an attempt to look through the history of the game and bring back some BETA designs as a special bonus for you. We have just released BETA3, codenamed "Blue Hesper", so be sure to give that a download and check it out! We hope you enjoy the mod and we will do our best to keep working on it. Just a reminder though, there's only a few of us actually working on this project so we do NOT know when or if we'll ever be finished but we will keep you all updated. Hey guys, Ash here bringing you an update on what's been happening over the past few weeks.

First off, the map is nearing completion, each area is now done and is under going bug fixing, corrections and SOME re-mastering in areas that really could benefit from a face lift. We're also going back over to some previous areas to fix more bugs and other issues pointed out. We still can't give an exact release date for the Silver Palmetto build but it is coming at some point, we've not abandoned anything!

A lot of the team are busy with school work and other things sadly, but progress is coming along nicely in the modeling, mapping and vehicle department, there's also been a huge boost in the coding for the mod with plenty of bug fixes but there's still a lot of loose ends remaining, especially when it comes to the empire related stuff, which is why mission progression has been so slow, we need to nail this first before we can move on and that's taken most of our time.

Translation wise, we actually have a little translation team going now! There's a couple of guys who are helping out and we're hoping by the time of release to ship this build with roughly FIVE languages, that will be English, German, Polish, Hungarian and Romanian. So a big thanks to those helping out in the translation Dropbox.

Now we know we don't make posts often here on ModDB, infact we're mainly active over in our thread on GTAForums, so we do feel the need to at least try and reach out and communicate more with you guys it's just in all honesty, we don't have anything major to announce to warrant going through this process of posting up a news article, but we do keep in touch via the comments below both myself on the Luten account and of course Silent as 'CookiePLMonster'.

Now one area we've been asked about for months was do we accept Donations, and after holding this off as long as possible, the other members of the team would like this option, so as of, well, NOW, we're accepting donations through -NAME REMOVED-. If you want to help the team out and contribute a little something, feel free to do so, we'd appreciate it, we're not forcing anyone to donate, we're just having the option there because it would be nice to have a little support, especially from the update servers which we're currently using on borrowed time. If you do donate, leave a message, a comment, your name, or whatever so we know where you'd like us to focus on or if there's a specific member you'd wish to give the money to between CP, Silent, Luten and NTAuthority, personally I will NOT be accepting any money but I will be the one running this -NAME REMOVED- to make sure anything you give will go towards what's needed and whoever needs it the most.

If you meant in terms of progress, we're still a long way off from 100% (and truth be told Rockstar would probably shut us down if we got close anyway!), right now the map is done and is in remastering phase, which is where Ash is reworking textures and improving the texture quality, size, and fixing texture glitches left behind by Rockstar. The Mall area is still being worked on, you'd be amazed at the amount of bugs left in that place! A lot of work has gone into the engine this time around, hopefully we've done enough to at least try and make it feel modern to a standard a lot of PC gamers expect these days. We should probably update the map progress image at some point, that is very outdated now.

Me and my friend finished your mod 100% and everything works as it should I guess , but there were numerous bugs and glitches:
0.The bug that involves the car blowing up was false , because the mod was installed on a version of GTA SA that had this issue already(This instalation was on my friends PC)
1.Rampages sometimes spawn very little gangmembers (Cholo rampages) this can be fixed by setting the FPS to 30 , but it could be cool that we wouldnt have to do that.
2.Random crashes are still present.. sometimes they drop dump files and sometimes they dont resulting in a pc crash.
3.When you do the ambulance side mission , sometimes the pacients AI starts acting stupid like hitting other people or trying to steal your ambulance truck :D
4.The micro-smg is invisible when you enter a car or hop on a bike.(Plus you have to equip in order to use it , because the game doesnt identify the weapon for drive-by)
5.(Sometimes) the person that you have to follow on taxi side missions drives stupidly and keeps driving towards a wall or etc.
6.The sniper rifle (only obtainable in starfish island) doesnt have a dot in the scope.
7.The axe uses the bats sound instead of slashing.
8.Pedestrians still ram you like mad if you **** them off (This didnt happen in VCS)
9.Some guns dont work right or do the exact amount of damage like in VCS.(This is expecialy noticable in rampages , because that makes it very hard to complete them.
10.There were no reflections on cars in VCS.

100& you say? As in, you've done everything in the build? Side Missions included? Luckily a lot of the bugs you've pointed have already been fixed in the upcoming version :) And VCS DID have reflections, we're hoping we can get closer to the one the games uses at some point.

11.If you gain a stat it is shown in the game (VCS didnt have a stat based system)
12.Taxi's are sometimes driven by a pedestrian from GTA SA.
13.Sometimes in Starfish Island LCPD cars spawn (The redneck county version)
14.The lock on target system works when using guns , but when using your fists... it doesnt.
15.Races and checkpoints use the sounds from GTA SA.
16.The only available plane in the airport has no name.
17.You can still perform stealth takedowns with the knife (There was no such thing in VCS)
18.Some guns dont sound the way they are supposed to.
19.The different colors around the weapon pickups are not present.
20.When you swim around you dont deplete the blue stamina bar(Plus you cant swim underwater in VCS).
21.The cop that drives the VCPD Wintergreen is from GTA SA.
22.The S.W.A.T unit peds are from GTA SA
23.You cant climb over obstacles or crouch in VCS(I think those features dont hurt the PC version)
So that is all :D This 100% completion was done by two different PC's
