"Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories PC Edition" is a Total Conversion Modification for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, bringing you a port that Rockstar never gave you. In this modification we will be converting the map, all the characters, vehicles and weapons from the ORIGINAL game files as well as porting the games weather system and atmosphere. In this modification will also be a set amount of storyline missions and side missions which will increase with each BETA release, other things will also be available such as a redesigned menu, new neon lights, HUD, radio stations, etc as well as an attempt to look through the history of the game and bring back some BETA designs as a special bonus for you. We have just released BETA3, codenamed "Blue Hesper", so be sure to give that a download and check it out! We hope you enjoy the mod and we will do our best to keep working on it. Just a reminder though, there's only a few of us actually working on this project so we do NOT know when or if we'll ever be finished but we will keep you all updated. Hey guys, Ash here bringing you an update on what's been happening over the past few weeks.

First off, the map is nearing completion, each area is now done and is under going bug fixing, corrections and SOME re-mastering in areas that really could benefit from a face lift. We're also going back over to some previous areas to fix more bugs and other issues pointed out. We still can't give an exact release date for the Silver Palmetto build but it is coming at some point, we've not abandoned anything!

A lot of the team are busy with school work and other things sadly, but progress is coming along nicely in the modeling, mapping and vehicle department, there's also been a huge boost in the coding for the mod with plenty of bug fixes but there's still a lot of loose ends remaining, especially when it comes to the empire related stuff, which is why mission progression has been so slow, we need to nail this first before we can move on and that's taken most of our time.

Translation wise, we actually have a little translation team going now! There's a couple of guys who are helping out and we're hoping by the time of release to ship this build with roughly FIVE languages, that will be English, German, Polish, Hungarian and Romanian. So a big thanks to those helping out in the translation Dropbox.

Now we know we don't make posts often here on ModDB, infact we're mainly active over in our thread on GTAForums, so we do feel the need to at least try and reach out and communicate more with you guys it's just in all honesty, we don't have anything major to announce to warrant going through this process of posting up a news article, but we do keep in touch via the comments below both myself on the Luten account and of course Silent as 'CookiePLMonster'.

Now one area we've been asked about for months was do we accept Donations, and after holding this off as long as possible, the other members of the team would like this option, so as of, well, NOW, we're accepting donations through PayPal. If you want to help the team out and contribute a little something, feel free to do so, we'd appreciate it, we're not forcing anyone to donate, we're just having the option there because it would be nice to have a little support, especially from the update servers which we're currently using on borrowed time. Alright, i'll get you some info about a crash i'm having and some suggestions.

I crash when Phil destroys the Cholo gang car in the mission "Cholo Victory" (First Phil Cassidy mission) and i can't get past it.

Now i'm not sure if VCS for PC is gonna have multiplayer, but i highly suggest putting in official support for either Multi Theft Auto, or San Andreas Multiplayer. (Though personally, i'd go for MTA, since it's more customizable and user friendly)

Other suggestions for "DLC" is special parked cars, early vehicle access, vehicle placements (Like the tank being placed at every safehouse) and/or alternative skins. (Custom clothes, or a custom skin overall.)

Odd, in the last release ALL missions you guys have access to are working fine.

As for Multiplayer, we're not sure for now, but since we have a lot of engine changes and fixes, we'd have to co-operate with either MTA or SA:MP devs to essentially do a special version for the game.

Well, if i play on 25-30 FPS they work just fine. However, personally i do prefer playing the game at 60+ FPS. I do love the option though.
Also, i got some small time bugs i'd like to report.
Cholo Victory = The Cholo will always spawn facing away from the road. This means he has to turn around 90 degrees, making it somewhat easier to catch up.
Cholo Victory = The UZI Phil Cassidy uses via drive by has the same firing sound as the Python.
Boomshine Blowout = The forklift refuses to pick up the boomshine. It won't "fit under it", basically.

Also, random question. Would it be too much to ask to become a BETA tester? I do LOVE the work you guys have done, and i'd love to see and test things before they're publically released. Also, i will most likely do a review of this at some point in the future, if that's okay with you guys.

We usually do a brief closed quick testing session before we send out major builds, but we're talking like a week or two before we plan to go live, but really we don't have a date set for Silver Palmetto as of yet, which yes, we know it must be annoying for you guys to read, but trust us, we're like OCD on this, we really want it to be right.

umm have you updated ur game? and the thing about multiplayer i think no way it is based on SA engine BUT ITS DIFFERENT san andreas multiplayer not a change to work on it and multi theft auto idk same

Alright, so i tested it. There's one to two things.
1. Using VCS as a non-steam game/Launching via Steam.
2. Having the FPS set to 60 or unlimited. (Frame limit to 60 or turned off)

I have version 1.0 of SA and i updated VCS for PC to the latest, since it DOES say there's no new update available. I think i know what the issue is. I'll check it out and i'll get back to you.
