T he third BETA release of VLM is now available for download! Included in this release are numerous fixes, improvements to the installation process and a few additional mod packages.

New Features & Improvements

For this release I've listened to the feedback received regarding the installation of the mod packages, and as a result I've now included additional descriptions and notes for each mod package, to which can be accessed directly from within the mod manager itself. Additionally you'll find links to screenshots and / or videos that show off the particular mod package if they are available.

Improved Armor Customization


A while ago I showed off the screenshot above and mentioned some of the additional mod packages found in VLM that aren't related to weapon load-outs and in particular improve your character appearance.
First of all in this release you'll also find a copy of Abvex's MASS-ively EFFECT-ive COLOR-palette mod, which I've received permission to include. This is a great mod that adds hundreds of additional armor tints for you to customize your armor with. The color palette mod included in previous versions of VLM has been removed and I will not be continuing its development.
Secondly if you look at the far right of the above screenshot, you'll see that the other N7 armor has been added to the armor selection. In VLM you can either choose to select it as a Full-Body Armor or customize it with shoulder pads and helmets etc. If you want, you may also remove your shoulder-pads, to which can look good under certain combinations. Adding additional armors is merely a test for now, I'm aware other mods have produced similar results - but if this checks out bug free and works properly for all users then I will be expanding to it in the future.

Other stuff and ETA till next release...

I've been a bit tight for time with this release as I have a backlog of other projects I need to finish first, so not everything I wanted to include is included. A few additional weapons mods and improvements will be released later on, probably next month some time when they are completed. Remember this mod is still in BETA, so please continue to post your feedback and / or bug reports. In the mean time enjoy V1.2!

Hey, great mod man i love how now all my allies are not stuck with machine pistols. on another side not, my main shep does not have access to all the weapons. the "folder" for the medium weapons shows that all the dlc weapons i bought are there - because it says like 14 or something - but when i access it its just the same weapons you begin with just multiple times. i don't know if its just me, but what do i do?
-i do own all the dlc as a side note

Try using the LITE version of the load-out mod and no others, then load-up other packages one or more at a time.

I've not encountered this issue (no one has mentioned it), let me know if using the LITE version fixes it - if not let me know what mods you currently have activated, (any besides the load-out mod?), plus what DLC you have installed and I'll try and replicate the problem somehow so it can be fixed.

Well I guess I figured it out; you don't have to do anything with them.

On another note, I turned on extra ammo, and thought it would be cool to use the shield regen thing to balance it out. However, the issue is that it makes YMIR mechs unstoppable with any infantry support. Perhaps make it a long delay so you can stay in cover until the YMIR's machine gun burst is done, without the shield being at full again. Or disable it for YMIRs and bosses.

I'll look into the YMIR, there should be a way somehow to tweak the shields for it specifically - I'll see what I can find for a later release, so far I've only found the global shield values.

The short instructions are contained on the download page under the extended description - click "read more" to see it. I'll get round to including an actual 'read me' in the .zip someday.

Hi what is your exact problem? From what I've made out, you appear to have weapons disappearing after installing the mod?

Can you please provide more details - such as what mod(s) you have activated (was it the LITE version of the load-out mod? did you install the extra packages that correspond to any DLC you own?) and what weapons aren't showing up - (are they DLC ones?).

I've had no reports of 'missing weapon' bugs, if it is indeed a bug I should be able to fix it in time for the next release. In the mean time you should only have deactivate the particular mod and it will revert the game exactly to how it was before without issue.

I think he means that as for example a solider you'l have 1 of each weapon exept auto-Pistols equals to 5 total weapons, but in your mod it's cut to a total of 3... =] Great mod Btw =]

Ah ok. Well, the number of weapons you can carry is reduced intentionally, instead you get more selection and the ability to carry more ammo if you want. Its not a bug and wont screw up your game either, it just gives an alternative play style.

I understand its not to everyones taste, I'm currently working on a few alternative versions - such as allowing you to pick 5 weapons, but one of whichever type you want etc.

Also as I mentioned in my earlier comment, you can deactivate these load-out mods any time you want, it wont effect your save in anyway. Also your save-game will remain perfectly compatible for Mass Effect 3 etc. (none of my mods make any progressional changes).
