A Fallout 3 and New Vegas mod that greatly improves the user interface without compromising the original style. Recommended by GOG.
Install with a mod manager such as FOMM. Overwrite any mod supported by the User Interface Organizer, including the Mod Configuration Menu, oHUD, Weapon Mod Menu etc. Use a patch (from the Addons tab) for conflicting mods that aren't supported by UIO. To uninstall, be sure that your last exit from the game was done normally from its menu instead of Alt-F4 or a crash.
Please use a mod manager such as FOMM or NMM and don’t waste your time with a manual installation. VUI+ MUST BE INSTALLED AFTER, AND OVERWRITE, ANY MOD SUPPORTED BY THE USER INTERFACE ORGANIZER. That includes the Mod Configuration Menu, oHUD, the Weapon Mod Menu etc. UIO should obviously be installed as well.
Conflicting mods that cannot be supported by UIO must be installed with a patch, available at the Addons tab. The only exceptions are conflicts over texture (dds) files and mods that already support VUI+ such as Vanilla HUD Remastered. You can safely overwrite VUI+ by those.
VUI+ doesn’t affect saved games and can be uninstalled at any time. However please be sure that your last exit from the game was done normally from its menu instead of Alt-F4 or a crash. This is necessary for UIO to properly restore VUI+ prior uninstallation.
If the mod was not properly uninstalled, re-installing and uninstalling it again should fix the problem. If you are using Mod Organizer you may also have to deactivate all your UI mods, delete any “Overwrite” leftovers at your Data\Menus folder and activate your UI mods again.
If you still have issues after following these instructions, post a comment at the ModDB page including a screenshot and a link to an archive of your Data\Menus folder. This folder doesn’t contain personal data and you can use ephemeral file uploading.
To access this folder with Mod Organizer, you’ll need to use 7zip: Click on the executable menu in MO, select Edit, set a Title, set Binary to C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe, leave Start In empty, and set Arguments to the game’s Data path. Run the command you’ve just created and 7zip will display what your game sees. You can now use it to compress your Data\Menus folder and upload it.
