User Error v1.1a - Parts 1 and 2
Oct 31, 2012 Full Version 0 commentsUser Error Parts 1 and 2 are a two-part Single Player expansion mod for TRON 2.0 on the PC. This updated version fixes an issue with installation failing...

The story of User Error is about a character named Jeremy Powers who works at fCon, shortly after their takeover of ENCOM. Jeremy is having financial troubles, and decides to use his position at fCon to do some espionage in order to make enough money to pay off his debts. A former Russian agent named Karl offers to reward him handsomely if he will risk entering the computer by being digitized, and retrieve the fragments of a top secret file. Gathering all the fragments proves much more difficult than Jeremy originally thought, as his continuing adventures demonstrates.
User Error is a Single Player expansion for the PC version of TRON 2.0, that was originally released seven years ago. It featured 5 levels created by Meatsack. Meatsack teamed up with LDSO to create 11 additional levels for the expansion, bringing the total to 16 (including cutscenes). The most recent version of User Error has released the original 5 and additional 11 levels as two separate parts, now known as User Error 1 and User Error 2.
New to Version 1.1a of UE1 and UE2 is bug fixes, widescreen support (when used together with the Killer App Mod), and the fact that the missions are now self-installing. All you have to do is run the self-extracting program you downloaded to extract the installers to your desktop, run each one, and follow the on-screen instructions.
It is recommended to install and play through User Error 1 first, then install User Error 2. As you install each part, it automatically becomes active the next time you run TRON 2.0. So after finishing Part 1, if you install Part 2 and start a new Single Player mission, you'll be playing Part 2 instead.
You cannot load any saved games from Part 1 when playing Part 2. But at the start of Part 2 you will be given everything you need (weapons, subroutines, etc.) so you don't have to start over from scratch.
To confirm a part of User Error is installed and active, when you start a new Single Player game you'll get a new User Error mission. As a bonus, if you installed the Killer App Mod before User Error, you'll see a new animation on the Main Menu that will instantly let you know User Error is working.
Remember that while the mod is enabled, you cannot play Multiplayer online or load any older Single Player saved games. You must disable the mod again. You can disable the mod by clicking the "Custom" button in the TRON 2.0 game launcher and removing the X from the checkbox.

User Error Screenshots
Today, our team is releasing another update to the Single Player add-on: User Error for TRON 2.0 on the PC. Note that, despite TRON 2.0 being an old game, it will work on even the most recent versions of Windows - including Windows 7 and 8 (32-bit and 64-bit).
What's changed in these updated missions?
Here are some of the more important changes you can expect in v1.1a of Parts 1 and 2.
How do I use the Mod?
User Error 1 and 2 are self-installing now. All you have to do is run the self-extracting program you downloaded to extract the installers to your desktop, run each one, and follow the on-screen instructions. The installation process has been made as automated and painless as possible. REZ Handler is no longer necessary to install these. User Error should work on any version of Windows going back to 98, but was tested on XP/Vista/7/8 only.
It is recommended to install and play through User Error 1 first, then install User Error 2. As you install each part, it automatically becomes active the next time you run Tron 2.0. So after finishing Part 1, if you install Part 2 and start a new Single Player mission, you'll be playing Part 2 instead.
Can I load my saved games from Part 1 in Part 2?
You cannot load any saved games from Part 1 when playing Part 2. But at the start of Part 2 you will be given everything you need (weapons, subroutines, etc.) so you don't have to start over from scratch.

Also keep an eye out for another User Error Single Player mission and an updated Killer App Mod v1.2 in the future!

Hi SalesKital
[comment removed because of spoilerage]
There is only one ending to the mod

Sry for double posting. I found that jump subroutine in the 2nd level, but the 1st question still stands.. Im pretty sure I looked well enough there. Thank you for your time.
Hey 6xSnake6x
I didn't build that particular level, but a quick peek at the map source suggests that you can't get all the permissions to open all of the archive bins; I don't think you can get hold of Perms 7 & 8, so any bins that need those can't be opened.
Good luck with the rest of the game

A slight correction, you do get permission 8 from port sniffer when you complete his tasks and talk to him, so the only one you can't get is permission 7. Of course, that still means a lot of archive bins cannot be opened, and their contents remain a mystery.
There's also part of the pentagon that has a force field you can't get through. There's probably nothing there, but it's still funny to see the switch on the wall and no way to get the permissions to open it.
Hey, this really looks promising (I mean the 1st two levels). But Ive got a question.. In the 1st level, can you actually get all the permissions so that you can download all the things from the boxes ? because I cant seem to find all of them. Oh and in the 2nd level, Theres pretty much no way to jump on those boxes without that subroutine that enhances your jump. Am I missing something :-S I really look forward to finishing this mod. So far, so good :D
Hey guys, nice mod you got yourselves here. Just downloaded it a few minutes ago, and I'm currently still on the first level trying to get all the permissions (entering the data stream in the top level is for the weak ;)
Just wanted to say, thanks for the mod, your work is much appreciated ^^
Hey WolfieInu
Thanks for the comments - always nice to hear from folk that have downloaded and played it - do drop back once you've completed it and let us know your overall thoughts.
Cheers

I loled at how you ended your comment like the MCP. but The mod looks and sounds interesting.
Thanks for the kind words Dos,
Technically the later half of UE (Infested Space Junk - The End) is UE2.
We decided to merge the original with the later half to do justice for the original UE created by Meatsack.
(The later half was a completely different crew)
A UE3 as Win3k stated may happen.
The current version of UE has recieved a lot of great feedback.
Some story lines have been drafted,
And there are even a few levels lingering in all our hard drives.
So time will tell.
Stay tuned for more info
Thanks again for playing
Mor
Thanks for the feedback and score - always appreciated.
There is a possibility of a sequel, but it's too early to confirm whether or not that's going to happen.
