US Intervention (USI) is a modification based upon the Persian Gulf War in 1991 where about half a million US troops fought among other allied forces to liberate Kuwait from the Iraqi forces. The mod was originally created for Battlefield Vietnam. We felt that Battlefield 2 would be a better alternative so we started building there. The first release came out in May 2006 with a lot of content. In the same month a hot fix was released after a new patch was created for BF2. Every new release is meant to build upon the previous release adding more vehicle, maps, game modes and overall environment. Version 2.0 is due out soon with 83 different weapons firing 33 types of ammo, 76 vehicles, and 18 levels to battle on. Realism is a key factor this mod follows in the creation of the content. With some real and possible events being portrayed in every map. The battles have been evened out to give both sides a chance of winning. Teamwork is the key.

Hello everyone,

This week we have some new vehicles for you all to enjoy.

First off we have the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) or M270 was first deployed in Operation Desert Storm where it exceeded expectations. With its performance, the scared Iraqi soldiers gave it the nickname “steel rain”. Who wouldn’t be scared when it can fire all 12 rockets accurately in less than 60 seconds. The MLRS operates two M26 six-rocket pods or two Army Tactical Missile System (Army TACMS) missiles.

Next up we have the 40-tube multiple launch rocket (MLR) simply known as the BM-21 Grad. This vehicle was introduced into operational service with the Russian Army in 1963. The 9K51 rocket system is mounted on the Ural-4320 6x6 chassis that was introduced in 1976. The BM-21 is a pure ballistic system meant for large coverage, being able to launch all 40 rockets in 20 seconds. With its potential, the Grad is used in more than 50 countries making it the most widely distributed MRL system in the world.

That’s it? Of course not!

If we have an Ural rocket truck, why not have a troop transport?

Well here it is, the Ural-4320 troop transport. This vehicle is a general purpose off road 6x6 truck, produced at the Ural Automotive Plant in Russia. It was introduced in 1976 for military and civilian use. The 4320 is a result of new improvements from the Ural-375D which was the original platform for the
BM-21 9K51 rocket system.

Well we have some really big news I decided to leave you till the end. Project Reality stated it quite well so I will quote them.

"Project wrote: Project Reality and Black Sand Studios

Black Sand Studios is a group of mod teams who have formed a "studio" of sorts to help each other out. The teams share ideas, resources, assets and .. most importantly .. share the goal of creating great mods on the Battlefield series and other mod platforms in the future.

The mod teams participating in the studio include:

* 21st Century Warfare
* Battlefield Korea
* Battlegroup : Frontlines
* Eve of Destruction
* Operation Peacekeeper
* Project Reality
* Rebel Insurgencies
* US Intervention

All the mods in the Studio retain their own distinct game play styles, settings and objectives, but we assist each other to help each mod team further their respective goals and objectives. Ultimately, as a result, the players are the winners because mods in the studio can now deliver more content as a result of pooling our resources.

Don't forget that the Project reality has released v0.4 of their mod, which you can download at their website. Realitymod.com

Well, thats all folks for this week!

The USI PR team.
