"Where Quake meets reality" is the motto the developers of Urban Terror have adopted. While many mod these days tend to focus on realistic game play, Urban Terror takes a "fun over realism" approach to the FPS arena.

Thirty maps including many old favourites like Docks, Ricochet and Revolution are being updated for 4.2. Dragonne and QueenBee are working hard on their maps. The player skins have been updated and a public test was conducted to determine the ones that suited the majority of gamers. The skins are designed to be seen due to the speed of the game. The unzoom on the SR8 has been changed so it does not unzoom when legs are hit and possibly the threshold will be changed. New grenade and blood effects. Armbands now show team colour for enemies no matter how they are set. Team mates' individual colours will continue to be shown in game and on the hud. You now have to crouch to pick up a weapon; no more gathering of weapons you don't want. Buga and exploits are being looked at and fixed. Last Man Standing has been returned to the game after many years. It's Free For All without respawn. Very fun. Jump Training is designed to help teach gamers how to jump in Urban Terror. This gametype will work on maps specifically designed for jumping or regular gameplay maps. The mapper will be able to add goals and trace the jump routes to show gamers how to do them. That's it for now. We will keep you posted as development continues.

"Thanks to Blitz for dropping us on here years ago."
No problem Oswald :)

This is the first game (retail or free) that I have actually played for 4 years now off and on, it keeps me coming back for more. If I can comment on one thing that it has better then any other game out there it comes down to ------GAME PLAY.
Thanks to Blitz for dropping us on here years ago. We have finally got around to updating the mod and all that is new in the world of Urban Terror. Check out the screen shots and some of the new models, both male and female. We have so much more to introduce...
never mind my last comment, it works.
urban terror is a stand alone now

Only the current release is OSX exclusive (1.32) with PB support. Beta 2.4 ran great in OS9. If UT's sight doesnt have the links to the older versions, drop into the Mac section of the forums. Everyone is helpful and someone might be able to post the file.
You will only be able to play with bots in Beta 2.4, because no one is running servers in 1.31.
Just buy Panther anyway:-)
And to those who rail on Macs, after getting my RevB G5 Dual, my Alienware A51ex is a soon to be ebay auction!
Urban Terror isn't writen to exclude any OS. It's writen as a Quake 3 mod and will run on any computer Quake 3 (1.32) runs on. As for Mac or OSX or 9.x that has to do with iD and nothing to do with SID. So blaming a mod or whatever is retarded. Urben Terror is getting ported as a Enemy Territory Mod soon and I don't know if Mac computers will be supported. As for Mac vs PC (windows) or (Linux) I have all three and saying any one is better or worse is like saying motorcylces suck because they can't haul a ton of dirt like a truck can. Kind of pointless at this time all do what they do and most are simular in what they can run with only a few minor ways they are better at one thing or another.
Well, considering ID stopped supporting OS9 (just like Apple did), the newest Point Release won't work on OS9, and you need the newest point release to even play online these days...
Yeah thanks guys. It says nothing on here that this MOD is for OSX only (of course Windows too) - but not Mac OS9! So, after spending ages downloading the flamin' thing, I get half way through it loading the game media and... FREEZE. Every single time!!!
I'm sure it's a cool MOD, but you suck for not shouting out about the system requirements for Mac. I had to go to your poxy site to find this out in your forum!
your lucky it has mac support at all. If people want to get Macs then they dont deserve to play awesome games like this :P
