UnWheel is a driving modification for Unreal Tournament 2004. The idea behind UnWheel is not to create the ultimate racing game, or the 4x4 simulation with the best physics, or to specialise in any one area as other modifications and games do, but to simply create an assortment of gametypes and vehicles with the focus on fun driving, whether it be racing, rallying, or simply freestyle driving around.

Thanks to Unreal Tournament 2004's support for extremely detailed models, you'll be driving some of the highest quality cars and trucks available. Each vehicle has it's own distinctive handling, and thanks to the excellent in-game physics, they all react in their own way to every bump in the road and every corner they turn.

UnWheel really is a must-have modification for any driving fan, no matter what their preferred driving genre may be.

Why don't you ask Fileplanet to host the preview file...? They may have a login system, but at least we'd all be able to get the video then... ;)

With my idea, you answered, the maps are too big....

Well, why not make some simple smaller maps for a Halo like deathmatch battle. If you coded the vehicles well it'll be infintly fun. Imagine chargin up a rocket launcher with three rockets and blasting a car. Or taking out a whole team with a monster truck... o well, this mod still looks cool

Will there be real-time damage?

No, as I don't think there's a way for UT2003 to dynamically deform meshes. It's been suggested that the cars be made up of lots of parts which are replaced with damaged looking versions to simulate body damage, but that would cause massive lag and then under laggy conditions your war would be in 6 to 8 different places ;)

Can players get our of cars?

Nope :P The maps are going to be pretty large, and you can't really do anything in a driving game outside of a vehicle, so there's not much point to jumping out, unless you want to be run over :)

Environments

There is absolutely no restriction on where maps are based. Wide open terrain, Gran Turismo style city streets, or even Micro Machines type maps would all work very well.

Will there be a demo?

I suppose it's not really 'normal' for a mod to release a demo, but I'm being flooded with requests for a small demo featuring a vehicle and map. I am looking into it, and I think it's likely it will feature the Peugeot 206 and the desert map shown in the first promo image and second image on the news post I made here at modDB.

Thanks for all the comments and support ;)

Are you gonna be ever able to get out of the cars? It'd be really cool if on top of all the rally stuff and freestyling if you added an option where you could get out of the car and run around, shoot eachother like with the UT weapons, and blow up the cars and get run over them and stuff, and have some car with a manned gatling-gun on top. Just like Halo's multi-player. Is this even a possibility? It would really increase the value of the game.
