Unnerved is an action-horror game that takes place somewhere in 1990's Chile. The player acts as the main character Reese Forthloe. Reese is a history major in the University of Colorado. He and his four friends, who have also majored in this subject, have finally received their Bachelor's degree in ancient civilizations. They all decide it would be an excellent way to celebrate and learn by taking a vacation to the Chilean ruins. After visiting a ruin, it is evident that something unexpected decided to come along, uninvited, among them. Soon it is apparent that a powerful force is guiding them, but something that may be more powerful is trying to harm them at all costs...

I like it, looks like a cross between a P99 and a C96 Mauser.

I have to start by saying that your drawing skills are excellent for making concept art like this. I just don't personally like the design very much, with the clip on top. While I respect you for trying to be original, if you're using iron sights you will see how it is very inconvenient that way and makes the gun look a bit clumsy. You could maybe flip the clip on the bottom side and still keep the nice sort of steampunk - mechanical look I assume you're going for. Or maybe it could have a drum magazine like in Tommy guns?

I do agree with your points, but one of the main factors in steampunk IS to be inefficient and clumsy. It has also been proven that having a clip on top is more useful to that of having a clip on the bottom due to the reason that you dont have to turn the gun to see where you are putting the clip. I do not see how you could add a drum mag to a pistol.

I understand, but steampunk isn't supposed to be the most efficient or, convenient style such as modern weapons, that's just how that particular style is. However, I thank you for your feedback. By the way the drum magazine you mentioned seems interesting, I might consider it.

Well it's just that as the player, trying to aim with such a weapon is really frustrating as you can only see so little of what's happening around the sights.

A good comparison is in Day of Defeat Source where you have iron sights in the axis and US rifles. People get custom models for the german rifle even though it only has the bottom half blocked out unlike in the US rifle.

I think drum magazine would look cool and steampunk and there's no limits to "where" you can add drum magazines. There are some even for traditional shaped handguns where the magazine is integrated into the grip. And you might not know but Tommy guns are (most of them) .45 caliber and use the same exact ammo as the pistols, even though the magazine attachment systems themselves are pretty much brand and model specific.
