Biggest change melee players will notice is the OA/DA math. Offensive ability and defensive ability now work much better, and players will no longer have to suffer and endless barrage of critical hits (thanks to Galefury for finding and fixing this problem). DA will reduce more melee damage and OA will offer less frequent, but more powerful critical hits (net damage gain is greater than vanilla TQ).

Changelog:

  • Players start with 2000 gold (to help new players get out of Helos faster).
  • UI text changes now working (class names, race names, damage type display changes)
  • Sileni Butcher gear no longer says "Brute's" gear (they now drop "Butcher's Smock" and MI "Butcher's Plate).
  • Templar's set now renamed to Overseer's.
  • Anapaest and other gigantes are now correctly classed as "Gigantes"
  • Skill and mastery bonuses on new set items fixed (including Horns of Vorenus, Vestments of the Seer, etc..)
  • Arachne's Shame now drops Black Venom Sack properly
  • Legendary Reaver's wands and MI wands now drop in Epic and Legendary (were dropping normal ones in all 3 difficulties)
  • Animations fixed when players dual-wielding wands.
  • Tortured Soul charm description changed to indicate amulet-only restriction.
  • OA/DA math fixed (thanks to Galefury).
  • Cleave description changed for clarity.
  • Epic and Legendary quilvines no longer have 100% chance to sleep target (oops :O)

Also, missing from initial release notes:
Recipes now take higher-quality relics and charms. Meaning, if a recipe calls for an Epic relic, you may substitute a Legendary-difficulty version of that relic, but not a Normal-difficulty version.

All map-related bugfixes will be included in the large 1.4 content patch out in January.

LET THE EVIL CONTINUE!!!

There's the release notes with the installer, but as for a count-by-count list of every change, that doesn't exactly exist yet. :) More info will come in January with the big 1.4 release. But for now, I'm spending a lot of time with Family.

Merry Christmas, nerds!

will the classes in this mod be compatible with other mods?

Compatibility depends entirely on the mod. Mods run on top of Underlord, just like the original game. So, when the mod uses the same records or resources, those will override Underlord's.

I will provide a list of compatible mods soon. Check the "Features" section when it lights up.

upd 2: the first comment is one below that ;)

upd: Well, the difference between going with conq and going with brigand is devastating... Brigand cruised it right through to the end, to got smashed (well, i was kinda suspecting it ;) by that quick little things before Leinth. She, and other enemies - fell like nothing. Well, 1 death now.

About drops - one of the blood disciplies dropped Erebus Staff, so I guess, there IS some chance for act 4 items.. And Leinth orb left three recipes and three relic pieces. I guess, maybe she is good to farm for Mythic recipes then.. hmm..

About xp - getting through almost get me full level (from fresh 38 to almost 39) - so, it's okay too - i guess, IF, your class allows you to brave BC dangers on right level.

Still - I'm gonna ignore BC with all my melee chars in Normal (well, maybe in Epic too ;)

Well, think i'm ranted enough as it is :P , sorry for long read.

I'm not sure why you think the blood cave isn't supposed to be cleared until after Typhon; my recommendation of leveling up and farming first was only if you were having too tough a time making it through there. And, a conq is easily the weakest class for that particular monster set and difficulty. I mean, I could do a zero death run with a level 35 conq (untwinked), but it would take twice as long as a necromancer.

However, it's just a bonus area. If you twink, and have farming characters for that express purpose, then I could easily see why you'd skip the blood cave with a conq. I don't twink, and didn't balance the game for twinking. And, frankly, it would be impossible to anyway. :)

So, while it may upset you, and other players who prefer a more relaxed gameplay experience, know that the blood cave is intentionally brutal, but the drops are better, and (spoiler alert) there are items and ultra rares which only drop in the blood cave. And your note about Leinth's drop is right on the mark--her mystical orb will always drop more recipes than any other, and it makes her the single best boss to farm for mythic recipes in later difficulties.

Nah, I already said 'tis was a too quick judgment. Sorry %-P

I twink in some way, by going through the game with some number - 3 atm, of char's simultaneously - sharing good loot I find but can't use. Becomes a bit boring sometimes, still - not as boring as farming x3 more times with one char, imho. But that's it, my TQ Vault is for collecting all the damned stuff of this game, just for sake of satisfaction ;). Having good loot anytime you want proved to be killing most of fun..

So, good drops ARE possible in BC, and that's the point for going there i was looking for ;). Thanks for info, Munder!

Sorry, if there are problems with the blood cave, please let me know. The legendary chest will obviously be fixed. But, as far as it being too hard for you, that's not something I can help you with. I warn players before downloading Uber that if they're new, they won't have fun because it'll be too hard for them. Likewise, as the Blood Cave is so hard (not Uber hard, but pretty close in many ways), I can see where new players and casual players will find it frustrating and unfun.

But, I'm afraid you'll have to figure out how to spend your gaming time on your own. I can do nothing for masochistic players that insist on compulsively replaying a part of the game they find boring. I mean, I don't clear the Elysian Fields when I play now because I find that area to be too boring. If you feel compelled to run the blood cave over and over again, even though you're not having fun, I really don't know what to tell you. I mean, I'm spending a lot of words to be fairly diplomatic, since I really appreciate the detailed bug reporting you've done, but I'm honestly just trying to find a way to say, "Wipe those tears away and just kick more ass." ^^

lol, seriously, just play harder. I mean, you know, 2 of the 3 lead modders on this project are hardcore players who like extreme difficulty, so our personal bonus areas are going to reflect that. I've already scaled back the normal difficulty boost some, but further whimpers will fall on deaf ears. If you want a game that requires no player skill or judgment and just rewards the player for whatever random action they take, I'd recommend you check out that Torchlight game. ;)

Hey-hey, you've got me totally wrong there! Games are made for fun, not for boredom, or so I think, so I try to quit playing something as I get bored. Torchlight "done" me in 5 or 6 hours - cartoony pointless clicking thing %-)

BC was hard for conq - well - I've levelled him up and it's become easy. Brigand can do it right from the start.

I've played TQ for some time, noticed Uber readme, when it came up, decided that sadistically hard is not for me and just didn't download it. Underlord, however, IS mostly difficulty-wise perfect, well some classes have it tougher than others, but I guess nothing a modder can do 'bout it, so - no blame here.

"I'm spending a lot of words to be fairly diplomatic,"

Hey, don't worry, I'm not gonna faint over a few hard words ;)
So, hope we're clear - I'm not complaining about BC hardship with no fountains anymore - since my Brigand run it. I't just came to me that classes have some unfair matchup. And i'm not complaining 'bout "hey, why do I wanna go there?" - since the time i knew about uniques that _may_ drop there, as well as Leinth Mythic farming.

Frankly, why are you wastin your time reading this rumbling? )) Time to do some patching! %-P

lol, ok. And, like I said, I appreciate people who take time to report bugs and to do so in an easy to replicate way. :)

But, you may find that your conq will fare a little better in 1.3 as Galefury has uncovered a pretty big problem with the way I had OA/DA calcs setup, one that was causing massive amounts of critical hits--the kind of thing an Uber player wouldn't notice. *cough* Basically, right now, DA is pretty lame and not doing it's job, and OA is overperforming.
