Underhell is a Source Engine game developed by the Underhell Team in collaboration with We Create Stuff. Underhell Chapter 1 requires ONLY Source SDK Base 2007 installed. No Source game is required.
The story kept my attention until I beat it and then some time after, thanks to that house. I seriously just sat down and did not get up until after I had beat the prolog; it was that good. Even though this mod is not complete, it already has a story deeper than any game I can bring to mind. I simply cannot wait for the rest to be done, keep up the perfect work!
Amazing overhaul of the Source engine, not 'just another HL2 clone'. Game has a refreshing a new twist uncommon in many Source mods these days. Everything is different, voice acting, battlechatter, weapons, noises, new game mechanics, particle effects and AI have all had an overhaul just to name a few. Soundtrack is very professional and extremely identifiable; the single best i have ever heard from a not-for-profit mod. Eagerly awaiting the first chapter, with a prologue as grand as this, it has a lot to live up to.
This is the best HL2 mod i have played as of yet.
-Great gameplay with features rarely found in source games.
-A story that is well crafted and immersive.
-And very good mapping and modelling.
I hope the next chapter will be released soon, I really cannot wait to see what will happen next.
By far my favourite mod, and the best I have ever played, the level design and gameplay are top notch and the pacing is perfect, but what really makes it shine is the plot and atmosphere, the most immersive shooter i have seen in recent years, the voice acting is quality, there is brilliant use of music and ambient sounds, i got chills in several parts of the game, and it is truly haunting. I am dying to see where the story leads in future episodes.
Kudos to the developers, i would love to see more areas similair to the house, perhaps the park and the well area?
