Hello there!

Underhell Chapter 1

*Make sure to completely uninstall Prologue before installing Chapter One, do not install on top!*

The game ONLY requires Source Sdk Base 2007 installed, no other source games are required.
(to avoid possible bugs/crashes)

Underhell has finally been Greenlit on Steam !

Underhell Greenlight

This is amazing news for the game and the team! This means that the 2013 version of Underhell will be released on Steam, when it's ready to go up there.
This means a lot of extra work for us, as we will have to create, replace and improve the assets of the game to make sure they are up to standards.

Speaking of which, as some of you might have noticed, Alex Voysey has been re-creating the weapons for the game, and we have been keeping you up to date with screenshots, here is the progress on the weapons so far:

As you can see, progress is smooth and steady in the weapons department, on the Programming side, progress is also steady as Charly Sotelo is working on porting the game to the Source Engine 2013, which will not only fix many issues with the engine, but also provide us with new features, such as moving leaves on trees, which should really improve The House visually.

Source Engine 2013 also adds Mac. and Linux Support, as well as Occulus Rift support.

Thanks to the Bug Reports and Technical Support thread we are still currently fixing many bugs or glitches with the game, in the hopes to deliver a bug-free game when it comes to Steam.
No release date yet, we are in the thick of it.

In other news, Pedro Calvo is working on Artworks for the game, more precisely a new ModDB page design, which will hopefully make this page look a lot prettier.
Here is a Work In Progress of what he is currently making:

If only the House looked that good ingame, maybe some day.

On a side note, Youtube user Colo118 has created a Fan Made trailer for Underhell Chapter 1.
It's the first Fan Made trailer created for the game, and it has some nice shots.

Also, the Underhell Chapter 1 Bonus Album can now be purchased!
It includes the Credits Song, the Hermit Song, all the trailer musics, as well as a few extras.

  1. Underneath this Hell (bonus) 05:35
  2. She Piano 1 (bonus) 00:50
  3. Waiting Trailer (bonus) 02:56
  4. She Piano 2 (bonus) 00:56
  5. Hermit Song (bonus) 01:42
  6. Trailer 1 03:00
  7. She Piano 3 01:34
  8. S.W.A.T. Tutorial 02:43
  9. She Piano 4 (bonus) 01:28
  10. Chapter 1 Teaser (bonus) 01:20

And finally, an update on the Russian and German translation patches. Beez-one and Beserkr have made a lot of progress, and it seems they are both under way, so hold on tight and we will soon be receiving a lot of players from the German and Russian communities! See you soon for future updates!

I'm thinking of two things than can mean milestone:
first: He did something very important\finished\patched some big part of Underhell.
second: He has earned all milestone achievments in TF2.
Which one would it be, hmmm?

I don't think he'll make the house/missions co-op, as that would take alot of work and I believe require him to semi-remake the entire maps.

Still i'm sure there will be horror maps like the house people will make for the multiplayer!

If Mxthe releases a SDK for Underhell (pretty sure he said he will), then people can make it themselves.

If would require little editing of the House vmf.
Maybe some script editing.

Underhell is kind of a life goal for me, I've been working on this for almost half of my life by now.

I just don't know if the future of Underhell lies in modding, or something else.

Let's just wrap up Chapter One and see where this goes.

Gabe is 50 years old.

You are saying that Half-Life won't be continued in the next 20-40 years that he lives?

If you lost faith in HL3 I feel bad for you.

Keep in mind that both Half Life 1 and 2 were both halted about 3/4 through development and completely restarted from scratch. This resulted in the games being rushed a bit and also resulted in not being able to use their full potential.

Imagine how even more amazing both of these games would be if they had their final idea in the beginning of their development process.

Simply put, Valve are taking their time with the game, making sure they don't show anything until they KNOW they are ready. Because that is a mistake they made in both e3 1997 and e3 2003. They WEREN'T ready, and did it anyway.

Plus, the HL3 has reportedly been through at least 12 different builds already. This last one will hopefully BE the last. Another probable reason is because they are working on perfecting source 2. They got atleast.... 4? 4 teams working on Source 2 right now. Whether that's for L4D3, Portal 3, or HL3 is unknown. But it is still very likely.

But HL3 isn't the end of Half-Life, hell, Gabe is planning on releasing seperate games, such as the likes of opposing force, which will continue Half-Life, but in different ways.

Hopefully this means the conclusion of both Adrian Shepard and Barny Calhoun.

Sorry for that long wall of logic, I just hate when people say "they give up" on something, especially half-life.

Although no one said exactly that they DID LOST faith in HL3
And try thinking a bit more realistic
What's the chance of living up to 70-80 years nowadays?

Just as big, as chance for Underhell to be completely finished

Yeah he did, "I already have lost faith in Half Life 3
Gabe is getting (REALLY) old
And we don't know anything about Future of HL series"

Underhell is one of those mods that comes along every so often, that makes you look at retail and remember when they used to make good games like this...and saddens you a little that the industry can't turn out gold like this these days. In a world of MMO's, Call of Duty FPS's, we get a classic game with a good story, incredible atmosphere, and depth to boot. Fun gameplay on top of that? This is a lovechild, and that is what makes it amazing. This is the result of someones vision come to life. They…
