Latest version: UEAW v4.0

The Focus of UEAW is to bring the eras, or periods of time, to the game that were not in the original release of Empire at War. The Mod will include new heroes, units, buildings, technologies, planets and weapons. Players will have a chance to take control of the dark side or light side in a galactic campaign in each era, as well as the ability to train the sith as the dark side, or jedis as the light side. The Ultimate Empire at War campaign will also be available, which is a Galactic Campaign that spans every era of time in the mod, covering all material, units and heroes in the mod.. More about the Ultimate Empire at War Galactic Campaign below.

The Eras:

The Old Republic (25,000 BBY - 1,000 BBY) The two major forces in the galaxy during this time were the Republic and the Sith. Players choosing the Dark Side will follow the sith throughout the Old Republic Era, while users choosing the Light Side will control the Old Republic.

Rise of the Empire (1,000 BBY - 0 BBY) The Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems were the two major forces that UEAW is covering. Depending on which side of the force you are on , you will control the Galactic Republic or the CoIS.

Rebellion (0 BBY - 4 ABY) The Rebellion Era, although already covered in the game, will also be included in UEAW. The Rebellion and Imperials will be the two major powers during this time that player will take control of.

New Republic Era ( 5 ABY - 25 ABY) During this period of time after the Rebellion, the New Republic takes over from the Rebellion, while the Imperial Remnants is the faction that opposes them.

The Ultimate Empire at War Campaign

The Ultimate Empire at War Galactic Campaign is a massive camapign that spans all eras of time covered in the mod. Players will choose a side (Dark Side, Light Side) and will follow the respective paths of the Dark and Light Sides of the force throughout time. Each era will bring new weapons, technologies, heroes, units and planets, allowing the player to create bigger and more advanced armies and control more powerful heroes. Lead either the Dark Side or the Light Side of the force to the ultimate victory in the galaxy and the annialation of the opposing side.

Good afternoon to all;

This is something of a news bulletin, but also an advertisement - UEAW is recruiting, and not just the ever-open posts of modellers and skinners! With a few departures recently, as well as some hopefully temporary inactivity, UEAW needs just a few more competent and motivated staff to bring her on-duty roster up to scratch and get up to full efficiency; since V1 is now well under way. This considered, we have a few open positions:

We need to recruit at least one coder, and depending on the response I get from some inactive staff, possibly room for a second. In terms of the quality of the coder that must fill this role; I won't joke around; whoever it is needs to be competent. This said, we don't need a master coder of all things EAW; just a proficient coder who knows how to do his trade well - there is room for any new recruit to be taught the deeper tricks of the trade whilst we're making V1.

Furthermore, UEAW would also rather like one additional mapper. Primarily this mapper will be required once we start on V2 and we'd be wanting to recruit early and break him into the role, but he would probably go some way to speeding up the production of V1 as well. In this case, we similarly need someone talented and who already knows everything there is to know about the map editor and the protocol of making maps and is proficient in doing so. In terms of artistic capability and tactical design; the former needs to be well developed, but can be improved whilst he is being trained and broken into the job; the latter will be developed as probably the main feature of the 'breaking in' of this mapper; because compared to EAW maps, UEAW maps are going to something of a shock to him, probably. Patience is required!

As a Post Scriptum, UEAW is also still looking for some more Voice Actors - if you feel like giving it a try, go ahead and apply (oh, and that rhymed. +20 points to Chris).

If you think you can do it, say so and apply! If you know someone who might be interested, don't leave them in the dark!

Thanks,

Well since this isn't your board I will say whatever I please then won't I? Also It's not "YOUR" page it's Moddb's.

Honestly you UEAW guys have always been a problem, as this isn't the only time or person from your team I've battled with.

In fact your "leader" Prototype is someone whom I've come to despise. So stop being an ass and be productive.

Dude I'm just saying that for making a free mod, you guys seem to think that you are successful or powerful. You guys just need to chill and realize that you are just some avid gamers who are trying to make a great game better, not GOD ok?

Also lol to go forth and Multiply.

You miss the point. We don't make this mod to be abused by people who feel badly-done-to, and we'll behave however we so please on our own boards, website et cetera; because you are the recipients of our work, and not our employers.

Now unless you need your mod fixing, get offa our page.

Hey I recently downloaded V 4.0 and I cannot get this mod to work at all. I must say this is one of the most difficult mods to install and to start. Please help because I would really like to play this beautiful looking mod!

You mean as in UEAW V4.0 which comes with its own installer and a game launcher that automatically updates the game when you start it up? Now maybe you have an older version, but the only file in the V4.0 download is an installer, so what is difficult about installing it??

(btw V4.0 is from a long time ago; V1 will blow your mind when it eventually comes out ;) )

Hey sorry if I sounded angry or anything.

No I understand that V4.0 ha its own downloaded but it doesn't work good.

The preset location doesn't put it in the right folder for mods to work.

After I changed it to the right folder it refused to install it, citing that Empire at War was not found.

After messing around with it I found that an extra period in the preset loaction was screwing it up.

Anyway after installing it the game doesn't work, and yes I do have the newest patch for the game. So any help you can give me would be wonderful.

Also shouldn't the next version be called V5.0 not V1, kinda a step back don't you think?

Lt_Commander_Chris Aug 27 2009, 6:40am replied:

V4.0 is an unfinished addon, quasi-beta; containing some new content balanced into vanilla FoC; with no eras and few gameplay changes. V1 is going to be the first release of true UEAW with everything changed, space only though.

As for the problems; A) head over to our boards and to the troubleshooting forum, and:

i) You have installed this to FoC, correct?
ii) Check the folder:

Lucasarts/Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption/Mods/UEAW

And make sure all the game files are there.

iii) Importantly, make sure you ran both the installer and run the game launcher with ADMINISTRATOR privileges.

Ok well since this is not a full version or anything I think I'll just wait for V1.

But since not single memeber of UEAW will answer that question on here or the forum I doubt anyone will know when that will be.

Also the troubleshooting part of UEAW's forum is terrible, everyone just tells you to view the stickies even though none of them are any help. My advice to your Team, stop being so snooty with your forum members and stop acting all high and mighty.

READ the stickies and only if they don't resolve the problem then post.

They deserve all they get if they go to troubleshooting and ask 'Where's the CIS in V4?' accompanied by some puerile whining.

We're spending our free time to make a FREE modification at our own expense (literal financial expense), so if you don't like being shouted at for being ignorant and unco-operative then you can take *my* advice for *you*: Go forth and multiply.

Bull**** in the past few weeks we've released more media of new results that we have in months or even the last year. Work has never been going so well, nor have you ever been given more information on what we're doing at any given time; with regular images as well as the UEAW Dev's Blog; the latter of which has released two issues already. Check the features section.
