Ultimate Apocalypse News - July

So basically, Lord Cylarne, the creator of the Ultimate Apocalypse mod is back for a temporary time until the 13th of July. Within this time, the Apocalypse mod team will now go through and gather whatever information is necessary to make a new patch coming out very soon! Version 1.8.# will be coming along with lots of changes and tons of balance fixes that will make gameplay a little more better in terms of less cheese. There is also a probably of more content. If you liked THB so far, the next patch is a need to get!

Need help setting up UA? Check the instructions below!

What you need to play UA The Hunt Begins:

1. Dawn of War - Soulstorm installed. Any version (Steam or disk) works.
2. Ultimate Apocalypse v1.8, aka "The Hunt Begins" installer. Download from the download buttons above or:
Moddb.com OR Mediafire.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz OR .torrent file
3. Ultimate Apocalypse v1.81.29 patch installer. Download from the download buttons above or:
Gamefront.com OR Mediafire.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz
4. Install them, the patch after the main installer
5. Launch Soulstorm, click the Game Manager on the Main Menu and select: "UA: The Hunt Begins"

What you need to play THB New Factions:

1. Dawn of War - Soulstorm with UA The Hunt Begins installed
2. Inquisition: Daemonhunt mod installer. Download from:
Gamefront.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz
3. Chaos Daemons mod installer. Download from:
Gamefront.com OR Mediafire.com OR Drive.google.com OR Mega.nz
4. Tyranid mod installer. Download from:
Moddb.com
5. Install all three Inquisition: Daemonhunt, Tyranid, and Chaos Daemons mods
6. Launch Soulstorm, click the Game Manager on the Main Menu and select: "UA: THB - New Factions"

Greetings everyone, I am Cylarne, the creator of UA mod if you did not know already, and I am just here from my returning business to notify you guys: THANK YOU FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

My biggest apologies not being here on the day of a big release as real life sucked me out of the loop again, but I'm able to check the updates every week, Saturday-Sunday if I have internet capability. Youtube videos will be uploaded every Tuesday on my chennel at 12 pm.

Thanks to the UA mod team for making a SUCCESSFUL release!

Bugs will be noted on our todo lists, replying to you guys after it will be very time consuming, so we apologize for that, but we will get to as many as we can. This will be going on for the next 6 months to 2 years unfortunately, but I at least am eager to get on when I can. If I don't reply immediately or within the next 2 weeks, it means I am overloaded with PMs or the internet over here is dead, will need a month to recharge the data limit.

Why would they add those? Those are just chapters/regiments in existing factions.We already have the Space Marines and Imperial Guard. You can make/choose those "factions" in the army painter.

because those chapters are different from the codex astartes they use different units and different styles like death gaurd love the **** out of plasma weapons. Tell that to the death korp. i would atleast like to see the steel legion there own because they use more armor and in this mod depending on how u start infantry is usless after a certain point.

i disagree should be put in but when it comes to space marines more or less yes. but imperial guard um no death korp are way different then imperial guard.

There aren't plans to add more races in UA, but you can add as many vanilla race mods you want through UA's .module file. As copypasta'd from a previous comment I posted here:

Open UltimateApocalypse.module with Notepad.
At the bottom, there's a "RequiredMod.#" list.
You can edit that so it loads some vanilla race mods as well.
To add a race mod add a line just like the other ones (starting with "RequiredMod." and a sequential number), then the name of the vanilla race mod's .module file (without the .module extension).

So for example, to add Dark Angels to UA (assuming you've got the DA mod installed), add this line to UltimateApocalypse.module:
RequiredMod.6 = Dark_Angels

Beware though, races added this way will retain their vanilla stats, research and so on, which means they'll be off-balance from the rest of UA.
Also, you can still play multiplayer while adding more races to the .module, granted all players are making the exact same edits to the .module.

It seems that Sega is trying to cut down on modding and finances not going back to Sega or Steam... By making mods incompatible?

Trying a control method which obviously fails. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if mods do not have offers of closed development for the steam engine. :)

Just steam ideology.... Also something Sega has done in the past and is journaled under the development of the Gaming industry. :)

I'm not sure to what you're referring with 'just steam ideology...'. Steam doesn't obligate any restrictions on software they host, but they cannot contravene a publisher that wants to include such features. They're the retailer, not the publisher at the end of the day.

Recent developments include restricting use of custom .dll files and LAN functionalities - both of which were brought in by a specific patch. Which coincided with removing the removal of the THQ icon and replacing it with that of SEGA :P Curious, curious.

It'll be interesting to keep an eye on what SEGA do with the dow IP, alright. Steam I'm less concerned about.

Negative sir. The mod disables the campaign. It didn't run so well if I recall. So in 1.73 it became disabled.
