January News - 1.86



So to update everyone of you with version 1.86, version 1.86 will be fully reworked by Thudmeizer, a veteran modder from the DOW Community who is ultimately stabilizing the entire mod completely with optimization fixes. So this is huge! Until he gets done, then 1.86 will be released and we hope to release 1.86 in consecutive phases/patches.

1.85.5 does not work without new races!

1.85.5 has 4 consecutive issues that should not be played as standalone. UA THB New Races is required to play 1.85.5, otherwise you WILL crash to desktop upon game startup. These four issues contain:

A required ability child within Chaos Daemons mod.

A required research within Chaos Daemons mod.

A required weapon within Inquisition Daemonhunters mod.

Icons used by the Chaplain Terminator in IDH mod.

These will get fixed as first priority. Priority 2 will be fixing the texture errors of the Necrons/Dark Eldar, and then finally at last the Ork Ouchy Turret upgrade when firing weapon. TONS of fixes will be made by Thudmeizer. Then after that initial release, the ai will be improved one by one until it can no more.

So, when will there be Chaos Terminators for Tzeentch, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Eldar Shadow Spectres aspect warriors? Sorry to ask this again, but I got no answer last time. Can someone please tell if you know and reply?

1.) Will the Chaos gods matter more in the next update? Right now if I choose Nurgle I can build Khorne Terminators, Tzeentch sorcerers etc. Would be better if you only got access to Nurgle units if you choose Nurgle.

2.) Will walls be worth it in the next update? You cannot build them until later on in the game, and they are very expensive for what they do, plus the upgrade which makes them somewhat durable takes ages to research, your walls usually get destroyed before this upgrade can be researched.

3.) Should the Imperial Guard field command lieutenant and fire support lieutenant have their own squads like the General does? Being able to add medics and vox operators for the fire support, and commissars / priests to the field command etc, as well as normal guardsmen. Right now they just attach to squads and get lost in the battle very easily. They act as more expensive guardsman and commissars unless upgraded (which takes tons of resources away from building your army.) I usually do not purchase them for this reason, they are resource black holes with very little return.

4.) Will the range of units be increased just a bit? They cannot fire their weapons very far, but maybe this is to balance the melee units. I'm talking about most normal weapons such as the Chaos marine bolters, they have to charge right up into the enemy's face before they fire, heavy bolters and heavy weapons usually have a good range.

5.) Will more models be used? I've recently looked at the Eternal Confrontation mod, and the models there are very good, would love to see them in UA.

6.) Will unit variety be similar to what it is now? Low tier units are quickly replaced and never used again. Hopefully there will be late game upgrades to drastically reduce the cost of lower tier units, to make them worth it. Usually there are no guardsmen in my Imperial Guard army, just tanks and a few Kaskrin and Ogryns.

5) Yes.
6) Elite units are now very much expensive and requires a great deal of squad cap, triple compared to lower tier units.

Думаю, с таким английским тебе мало светит. Тестеры, чтобы от них был толк, должны сообщать о найденных багах, детально описывая условия и ситуацию приводящую к их появлению.

Во вторых, левым людям со стороны редко доверяют. Чтобы привлечь внимание разработчиков, тебе надо взять последний публичный билд, выбрать какую-нибудь расу, и детально её протестировать. Все выводы о найденных недочетах должны быть задокументированы, обоснованы, и всё такое. Поработать короче надо конкретно. Чем фундаментальнее и качественнее будет отчет - тем больше шансов у тебя будет попасть в команду тестеров.

А так, УА мод - самый популярный из всех дов-модов, отбоя нет от желающих раньше срока, мимо кассы, получить свежайший билд. Не удивляйся, если тебя просто проигнорируют
