fuggles2k made me stumble upon this nice model of a taurox! Since Cylarne is currently revamping IG for the next patch I've though that this could be a nice addition to the imperial guard. As you can see the OE code and WTP is completed. Now all that is left is adding some proper Corsix Code. Thanks to knezekj who is the original author of that particular model which was made for the Vostroyan Firstborn Mod.
I've added also some upgrades for the Taurox to make it more usefull late-game. These upgrades are not visible in the screenshot, consider it a surprise ;-)

what does it do?
It will be a support vehicle that is able to spawn guardsmen and enginseers. Also you can research an upgrade that gives it a pair of antennas to increase sight range and make it a detector unit!
Furthermore it has one upgrade called "Ammo Stash" that may increase reloadtime/weapon damage of nearby troops and a "medicine stash" that will heal nearby troops and stack with the effects of medics. All upgrades have visual meshes that will appear on the unit!
So... mobile barracks, that later on also turn into detector, and AoE healer and buffer? Wow that sounds extra handy.
Though it's completely unarmed so it needs protection. It also acts as a transporter with 4 slots so you can transport 4 squads guardsmen to the frontlines.
I got several questions:
1) would there be a build limit?
2) if there isn't, do the buffs stacks?
3) if you have an idea, how strong would the buffs be?
The ammo box upgrade gives:
-20% more range
-15% more Max damage
-15% more Min damage
Medicine box upgrade gives:
-5 hp every 1 second back
Above bonuses only apply for Infantry.
Antenna upgrade gives the Taurox:
-30 keen sight radius (is 0 before upgrade)
-40 additonal sight range (is 30 before upgrade)
There's no build limit so far and the healing effects stack upon each other, the ammo effects don't.
Suggestions for nerfs and buffs are cordially accepted :P.
That is one awesome sounding unit. We still got room for the Mechanized Command and THIS... is gunna be QUITE an extroadinary addition!

I guess it'll both a patch and a full release that follow consecutively to replace the old full 1.88.5 installer. THis should make setting up a complete UA install for newcomers easier though veterans may use the patch in order to save download time.
Well, it doesn't look too terrible, considering the base model it was based on. Kinda looks pretty good.
Agreed. This is one of the few actual IG vehicles which looks WAY more practical with reinforced wheels instead of tracks that is only going to slow you down severly, not to mention being horribly exposed to land mines.

Any plans for an armed varient? This is a really cool model, hope to see more new codex additions in the future.
(apprently the armed varient is a seperate vehicle known as the taurox prime?)
This Taurox comes standard and free (tabletop) with a twin-linked autocannon on top mainly for self-defense. It can theoretically be equipped with other weapons, but most of these are indeed restricted to the taurox prime.
Base design aside the concept for this taurox "variant" is going to be pretty neat and useful for sure. I hope the leman russ armor upgrades affects it just to ensure they don't get demolished right away. Would like to see a twin-linked autocannon turret on top or at the least a storm bolter.
Overall it's definitely a nice addition, no question about it.
Will you make Tempestus Scion Character Models or just keep Kasrkin as our Tempestus Scions equivalent?
Very good work Cosmocrat! I did not know which teams were working on this project. Personally I planned to do after work on Basilisk for Praetorian (Fok design). Basilisk is my first vehicle. It allows me to learn to do things correctly before working on Taurox. It is because I understand the work of "putting to the clean" that you realized, that I appreciate it has just value.

in TT its a transport that appears in the codex scion codex if i remember correctly, its also armed.
so it could be a good idea for the taurox to have the same role it has now (mobile training center) but instead it could be specific for the people who choose to focus on infantry and it could train scions.
just an idea.
