Hello ladies and gents! So the past month (March), here is the status of the UA mod!
1 RACE LEFT! You heard right, ONE RACE LEFT!
The UA mod team has completely polished 9/10 races with new descriptions of ingame objects; hotkeys are fully functional and fully implemented without overlap, all descriptions were reworked to be better suited for newcomers, easy difficulty for newcomers was totally redone, the mod is easier to understand and cope with and finally all skirmish concepts are completed!
Test results = GOLDEN. Changelog = COMPLETE.
Here is the catch: This race, the Dark Eldar race has encountered MAJOR problems within development. The AI somehow messes up other AIs when ingame or not even ingame, present within the mod, and fixing this issue could very well take a while (or it is a simple fix and we have not found it yet). Every single game you come into a battle, one-three AIs of any race just immediately shuts down after 1-10 minutes, RANDOM, and we have no idea why.
When the Dark Eldar is completely disabled and taken out of the mod, no AI behaviors shuts down and the mod is perfectly fine. The mod if released now, will contain this conflict, along with 1 more race to polish up like mentioned above; the Tyranids. So the UA mod really really wants this out of our hands and into the public ASAP. And it is so far so GOLDEN!
We will try our dangest to get this... annoying and frustrating issue fixed as best as possible. With this bug contained upon release, it will not be good... so we unfortunately have to fix this issue before release.
Otherwise mod progress is going steady and we definitely hope to release this month. April release is bad, just bad, and I (especially) don't want that to happen.
So keep your eyes peeled. We may be done here tomorrow, the day after, or at worst case scenario, we might have to remove the Dark Eldar race from the mod on the 31st of March and release 1.73 + finish Dark Eldar in v. 1.74.

I would advice you to take the Dark Eldar out of 1.73 so you can take your time fixing them :)
Well we have until the 31st so I think he still has time. I would hate for that to happen since it is the worst case scenario. Besides, from what he said, he did not say that he WILL remove them so there is still hope. I think he would have by now if he said that this version was to be released WAY before April. And I highly know that the last race is the Dark Eldar. He has worked on them for FAR to long to stop and give up now. Version 1.73 is supposed to be the most perfect and best release thus far and I doubt that it will be a disappointment for the DE fans. He would not let us down. Just have faith in him. Trust me, it will all work out in the end and if I know Lord_Doofus, he is the type of person that does not give up on what his task is, no matter what. His devotion to this mod is like that of a Grey Knight's loyalty to the Emperor. :)

Well look, in either case, we still have time. If by luck, it could just be a small bug or error that could be fixed in no time flat.
Hopefully its just a small bug but if it has to be done, it has to be done. nonetheless we will still get an awesome final product with or without DE :)

Have you tried testing DE by itself with no other factions included? Might be an issue with 2 races combined.
Indeed I have also. 8 players Dark Eldar results in the same... *verb*
Any word on what's intended for tyranids? As an avid player I'd like to see something like the haruspexes or hive guard, along with the harridan.
Have you traced the AI by setting g_bAITrace to true in the ai/core/utility.ai file? This makes you able to see, which race caused the error and what it has done quite before.
You can send your AI traces to me if I should help you. Maybe I can find the error - I'm experienced in that...
So the Dark Eldar are being troublesome and elusive. Seems they don't change even at the programming level. Gotta love em! Fortunately, I feel they may have met their match in LD and his merry men! Even as a guy with an unhealthy DE fanboyism, I agree that the finished product will be fantastic with or without them. Can't wait!
Can we get the change log posted atleast? Would be amazing to read while we wait in anticipation!
i feel like such a shitheel. I've been checking the other place for news and have been a whiny scrotum! This is brilliant news! Greatest mod of all time and I cannot wait to play it! much respect to the UA team. You're all legends!
