all these animations look really great, but I´m afraid that they will look weird once you attack infantry with him, since he would swing his weapons above them, without visually hitting those "tiny" units...

The sword would hit (their heads in most cases) but the hammer would definitely miss.

yeah, the sword could hit them - just the sword; only in this animation :/

Yeah I know about these Issues but it's pretty much a design problem of this very unit. I had to make the animation in a way both suitable for large demons and small troopers, without having it look like the Dreadknight is chopping legs of the demons.

Seems like Matt Ward did not care for a functional design in the first place...

It would be really hard to fight in that without using your wrists.
If he would move his hand it would look much more realistic and he could reach shorter units too (with some extra knee bending maybe). I hope we will see the finished one too.
Good work btw, them shoulder look neat ;)

Is the grey knight piloting it supposed to move as well or no?

yea it probably should seeing as how the pilot's leg clips the robot's leg. Nice animations so far, the speed & follow through of sword & hammer would give a more slashing feeling.

If you used uppercut slices with the sword and powerful over the head smashing down with the hammer it would work for all units in combat.( bend at the knees when coming down would help with looking very powerful) and more fluid and realistic. maybe even add a step back with one leg before coming forward for a momentum feel to the attack. that should pretty much make it perfect and not awkward looking. a lot of work, but will pay off for this epic unit.

I notice that there are lots of swipes and things in this animation. Is there any chance it will have melee splash damage? That would be pretty awesome if its even possible

It's very nice, but I can't help but feel a lot of the problems it would have with smaller unit interaction could be helped with more movement of the knees.

Then again, the entire Baby carrier is a ******* mess, why the hell couldn't the GK's just get specialized Psy-Knight Titans again? At least those things aren't COMPLETELY retarded...

Description

Today i've finally started doing the yet lacking melee animations for the Dreadknight. As you can see these are 3 different animations beeing chosen randomly in a fight. There's also 2 synckills planned plus one special hammer-pounds-ground attack that knockbacks infantry in melee.
