Use this thread specifically to talk about the faction; Necrons. The Ultimate Apocalypse mod includes 12 factions in total. We require your personal feedback to improve each and every faction. This thread will definitely help us improve this faction in the future, so if there is no discussion about this faction, it is possible to assume that this faction is perfect as is. We want your every opinion, constructive criticism, and thoughts to make this faction better! No new content requests are allowed. What do you feel this race lacks? Balance in general - rate out of 10 and state why? All questions are optional by your choosing. Feel free to also talk about something else not mentioned, but only about this faction! This faction while fighting another race is acceptable. QUICK NAVIGATION! Edited by: Lord_Cylarne |

I find that no matter how many times I play this race it's very hard to survive. I don't know if it's because I'm fighting the AI, but they always get to me before I can have a substantial army. The only way I found survival was through scarab spam and either immortal spam or warrior spam. I really would like a much clearer view on the Necron's strategy, because everything about their strategy for vanilla is completely different. I'm fine with a nerf, because once you actually get to their end game (good luck getting there) they do feel OP. I do; however, wish that you buff their livability so it's actually possible to survive instead of getting steamrolled by every army that isn't Necron. |

I'm going to have to second that. Late game is a rock concert, but it's waaay too hard to get there. Giving them a little more pre-upgrade HP for low-tier infantry units like warriors or immortals would be nice. Edited by: LordRadical |

I third everything said above. They are OP late game, but it's near impossible to get there. My view is they are just too slow. I don't mean movement speed, either, although they do move slow as molasses. They gather resources slow, they tech slow, they build strength slow. That's my view on it. |

And I know exactly how to make this work, I hope... thanks for feedback. Jazz Sandwhich also reported the same, and this is a definite issue. |

5.5/10 I pretty much agree with everything being said here. Necrons are super OP lategame, but it's very difficult to get there. Edited by: TheGreatGargoth |

ADD additional new Units:
*note: the canoptek scarabs/ scarabs, canoptek wraiths/ wraiths and canoptek spyder/ catacomb spyder is already in the game concerning to the topic above: longer turret range... and slow progress in moving uptier so need alittle extra boost/ balance the units for better defensive stance while tier-up Edited by: makiyu1019 |

OP endgame. seriously. I'd say a nerf in the overall endgame units could be a good idea. or make it even slower to reach if units stats are good enough. |

in my opinion something that would really help the necrons are |

Doesn't the fact it's hard to get to the end game balance the reward of actually getting there for the necrons? I thought they were deliberately OP at the end because its so hard to get there. |

Interesting quotes here gentlemen!~ Have you tried playing against Necron as AI. So far I have played eight games (using various Imperial/Tau armies against multiple opponents in 8p mode.) Every time the Necrons have won. All bar in one game ,they (AI Necrons ) have also created Weapons of Mass destruction before anyone else. If it isnt multiple Aeonic Orbs or their Pylons wasting everything in sight, they also have a WMD base that seem impervious to any form of attack. Inquisition Deamonhunters in my own limited experience came closest to stopping their deadly advance but they (ID) also ended up getting wasted by the silent ones in the end! I have not tried playing the Necrons as yet but so far they appear Uber in AI mode! |

It's not fair that Necrons have the best nuke in the game and it's free. |
||
Apr 17 2013 Anchor | ||
On top of that they could do the research to have two nukes whitout any relic or critical point. so on little maps ( whitout critical point ) you are in front 2 OP nukes and you just have 1 crap nukes, I play Imperial Guard and i hate infantry doctrine ( i think it is too useless ) so I can't rush and when i have a good armoured army they already reached the nuke ( it's the same for the most of races, if you don't love to rush they build the nuke to quickly and Booooom you die ! the nuke is too fast too reach, the nuke isn't a weapon it's the objective : the first who reach the nuke, won the game °_° because when all your troops are die and when 3 monolith arrives you can't do anything ). |

Necrons are my favorite race, i think if they were the bigger and most powerful race on the universe, and they has 4 gods, why the hells( sorry ) the are underestimated? They are so slow, and so weak, if we're talking about the necrons warriors...they're just most...useful in the battlefield. for example, if you were fighting vs the Imperial Guard....you have to get the full monolith, i mean, the mobile fortress to attack to the distance with a lot of inmortal necrons, they're awesome to distance but they're so weak in body-body fight. so, you will attack with the mobile fortress and a lot of inmortal ,and lord necron will stop the enemy gun-attack with the solar pulse, that will stops the enemy shootings for a seconds, that's the moment you have to teleport the mobile fortress closer and teleport the necrons warriors closer to mobile fortress...they will CRUSH the enemies like ants wahahaha 3:). that's my strategy for fight with enemies like imperial guards, or space marines, or...well i hate the volter! about the necrons kaurava campaign. Within these missions, where you have to conquer each faction's main base, the starting bases (since they are still monoliths anything else goes offline appearently, so no resource income) for example in the orc base 220 energy are all you have in the mission. Either to change the HQ or at least 300 res at start for the thermo, can you change this? |

Nice idea. What do you wish to see specifically? Necrons are ok now balance wise, right? I just fixed their AO invulnerability glitch in 1.72.5, so... what else? |

Some sort of special weapon upgrades for the Warriors would be cool (like Tesla Rifles). Also why do the Necron warriors have to be free like in vanilla. The only way to balance that is the steadily increasing build time which leads to situations where you have three squads of warriors and eight squads of immortals. I'd kind of also like to see the Necron Lord become as customisable with wargear as with the TT with the ability to make a lord who can sit back and support his army with intellect and arcane science, a lord who is armed with a BFG, or a lord who just jumps into melee and slaughters everyone who dosen't bow down then slaughters everyone who did bow down. |

How can something be knocked over or pushed if it cannot take damage? It would be good if all phase shifted (or how the ability is called) units would be immune to knockdown or negative spells too, other than just damage. -unit example can be Necron Wraith. |
