Me and my friend have been 1 on 1ing in UA a lot recently. And if we we play any other faction except tau its a good fight, but as soon as either of us play tau its not even a fight. So my question is are the Tau OP?

Not really, there's definitely stronger races. What is it that seems to be causing you to have issues with them? They have good things going for them, but they all have big weaknesses.

Idk really, they just seem to absolutely reck, it's pretty much a fair fight if we play other factions. But the tau jest seem to dominate.

Well, Necrons are much stronger mid and late game, and most other factions are stronger in the early game. There's probably no race other than the Necrons that should be unable to keep map control over the Tau in T0 and T1, with the possible exception of the IDH. The IDH might lose t0 but should be more or less even from T1-T3 and should win T4.

Everyone else should take advantage of the early game edge and try to bully the Tau as much as possible at that stage. Tau aren't great at dealing with buildings early, so if you cap a couple of points that should be theirs early on and put upgraded LPs on them, it will be hard for them to contest the points. And you can fortify and grow your economy until you have a large enough advantage to push in and win. Tau artillery is decent but super squishy, so they can be dealt with reasonably easily if you can get something that can hit them. Their Fire Warriors are absolutely devastating to most infantry squads but do nothing to vehicles and badly need something to spot for them. The also do almost no melee damage. Take away their vision and/or force them into melee and they are much easier to deal with. Until T2 and Broadside Elites they don't really have a good way of countering even medium armor, so leading the way in on a push with your vehicles is a good way to give your force extra survivability. Also smoke grenades are super useful against the Tau.

The Tau are no where close to OP. They used to be, but not anymore.

They are weak in the early stage and horrible in close quarters combat. For example, If they aren't using Kroots to keep the melee infantry busy, they're probably not winning. Secondly, it takes the Tau a while before they can really get going. The Taus require a significant resource investment in order to be truly effective so if you hit them (especially with fast attack vehicles) before they can tech up to tier 2, you can cripple them for the rest of the match. It took me a while to become decent with the Tau, especially in 1v1 matches. They truly shine in battles of attrition when they can bring their high level ranged weapons to bare, but the beginning is always a struggle when your opponent is fully aware of the Tau pitfalls.

I think that dark eldar cabal is more OP seeing as it took a Manta to kill one finally.
