This modification adds the Tyranid race, from the tabletop war-game Warhammer 40k from which Dawn of War was based on, to the game. The Tyranids are an alien race, threatening the imperium from the edge of the galaxy, living only to feast upon the flesh of their foes. They are a fearsome adversary, but an even better ally! That's why our mod allows you fight with and for the great Tyranid race, swarm the enemy with hundreds of hormagaunts, stamp on your foes with the huge carnifex and devour your opponent from within with the deadly lictor. We aim to show players of Dawn of War what the fantastic Tyranids are and attempt to keep as true to the feel of the race as possible.

And because I need to fill up the 300 character limit, I must now ramble aimlessly! We have trained velociraptors to fight crime on our behalf. However, chaos theory suggests that should we attempt to turn them into a themepark, the frog DNA we used to repair their genetics will cause them to create breeding populations on their own, causing untold chaos and devastation when an industrial spy attempts to make off with samples and shuts the fence off while it rains. In fact, chaos theory in general dictates that whenever Tyranosaurs are on the loose in any movie about such things, it will be raining.

I was wondering how I get the mod to work. I realize I need to activate it in the game manager but where is that and how do I open it. I've downloaded up to patch 1.2 but don't see them as a selectable race. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This Mod is great! One thing i'd like to suggest is a tutorial to help new players grasp the tyranid race a lil' more quickly. =)
bah flying units kinda suck in this game! i mean its kinda cheezy the planes dont fly the hover or float and they get blown up soooo fast all they do is annoy infantry. i hope in DoW 2 they just make it so you call in bombing runs and orbital bombardments and each race has 3 tech trees like in CoH so you get to explore like Air, Infantry, and Vehicles. :D
the ultimate unit which requires a relic for the tyranids are very powerful, it destroyed my baneblade with 2 leman russ tanks and my whole squads
Well, not in this mod. I believe that they said they would not do a flying unit, but a spin off of this mod called tendrils of kraken are going to feature gargoyles as a flying unit (update on the status anyone?). In the table top game there is a flying unit called the harridan, just think giant alien dragon with guns and smaller flyers on it and you won't be too far from the idea.
