This modification adds the Tyranid race, from the tabletop war-game Warhammer 40k from which Dawn of War was based on, to the game. The Tyranids are an alien race, threatening the imperium from the edge of the galaxy, living only to feast upon the flesh of their foes. They are a fearsome adversary, but an even better ally! That's why our mod allows you fight with and for the great Tyranid race, swarm the enemy with hundreds of hormagaunts, stamp on your foes with the huge carnifex and devour your opponent from within with the deadly lictor. We aim to show players of Dawn of War what the fantastic Tyranids are and attempt to keep as true to the feel of the race as possible.

And because I need to fill up the 300 character limit, I must now ramble aimlessly! We have trained velociraptors to fight crime on our behalf. However, chaos theory suggests that should we attempt to turn them into a themepark, the frog DNA we used to repair their genetics will cause them to create breeding populations on their own, causing untold chaos and devastation when an industrial spy attempts to make off with samples and shuts the fence off while it rains. In fact, chaos theory in general dictates that whenever Tyranosaurs are on the loose in any movie about such things, it will be raining.

I notice that your mod seems to advance the AI of other factions. I was swarmed more than I swarmed. The AI seemed to build over the limit.
The AI is better, we use the Dawn of Skirmish AI. We recommend playing at a skill level lower than what you're used to until you get used to the new AI.

We're limited by the original DoW engine, we can only really do what any other unit can do in DoW, with a few tweaks here and there.
hey i think tyranid in this mod is too powerful... balance problem...
Make sure you're playing the latest Soulstorm version, it's much more balanced than the old DC version.
Are you playing against AI? The AI takes a bit of getting used to, as we use the AI developed by the dawn of skirmish AI mod, you may have to play on an AI setting lower than usual.
The relic unit in our mod is the trygon, thanks for the comments!
i think the trygon is a bit overpowered, it knocked out my baneblade and whipe out my whole army
We've been running unit vs unit tests in beta to get the relative unit strengths right, so don't worry - the next release will have a much better balance.
