At the 2007 Relic Fan Appreciation Day, they went on to say that this was because they didn't want just the models. They wanted to change the terrain.

what? relic said that. there just lazy basterds, tyranids suck to build and paint in the table top game, creating them is even more of nightmare. its good to see that a group of people worked hard enough to make these though i love this mod.

idk, i think you don't do the table top justice, yeah it takes awhile but for some units you make amazing poses. also the mod is freaking amazing.

o i meant, the tyranids are hard to paint, hard to put together, and then afterwards the figurines fall apart if you are not careful, Well imagine having to model them on a game, you have to create all the pieces and shape them to look according, then texturing, Then animating a tyranid. I mean no the game is cool i would never bash it. But this is hard to do, im upset to see that relic wouldnt even try, but these guys did just an amazing job!

yea man i hear you, i play nids in tabletop along with the guard...and the marines...and the necron....and the tau....(no wonder im broke now) and they are by far the hardest race to paint and build and keep from braking, then comes the necron. the skinnier the model the worse its survivability rate i say

Ya know what the Tyranids remind me of? Zerg in StarCraft. They are so much alike. Bio weapons of destruction. Living lava, that eats at everything that comes walks their path. Also like Aliens in A L | E N S.
I don't know which one of these living-destructo species is cooler. But I gotta say, look out Zerg, here come the Tyranids! Yee haw!

don't ever say that... considering blizzard openly ripped off most of its franchise from Warhammer.
Ripped off, simplified, and made less hardcore. but man can they merchandise!
