- Twisted Insurrection: Tiberian Dawn - Nod Victory -

The year is now 2037. The Tiberian World now stands with a very uncertain fate. The two most powerful and influential forces on the planet are trapped in a never ending dead lock of war and combat. Whilst the Global Defense Initiative has suffered many blows and military defeats, the faction itself still stands strong and has shown the world its amazing ability to endure harsh punishments and has recovered much lost ground. The Brotherhood of Nod has struggled and triumphed over its enemies, only for its victory to be short lived by the death of Kane the Messiah, causing an ever lasting deterioration through the Brotherhood and leading to defeats and chaos amongst the large faction. With the end of the First Tiberian War comes the dawn and age of a new, second Tiberian War, with new terrifying possibilities and potential. The fate of Earth lies dangerously unknown.

"Sir, I fear an Insurrection is imminent..." - Unknown

- What is Twisted Insurrection? -

Twisted Insurrection is a stand alone modification of Tiberian Sun, meaning you don't need to own Tiberian Sun to play. The mod features a completely new in-depth story-line which puts you in an alternate timeline where the Brotherhood of Nod were victorious during the first Tiberian War rather than GDI; After the Brotherhood used the Ion Cannon to destroy an irreplaceable monumental structure, the Global Defense initiative lost all UN support leaving them in total disarray. This is where our story begins.

Along with the complete overhaul and replacing of the original games graphics and having it's own all new soundtrack, Twisted Insurrection brings you all new units, infantry and naval forces to command as either The Brotherhood of Nod or the Global Defense Initiative in both singleplayer and multiplayer missions along with all new structures and base defenses to build as well! The mod also introduces the GloboTech corporation and contains all new campaigns for both GDI and Nod, plus some additional bonus challenge missions and several hidden maps so there is always plenty more to play. TI also features all new game-modes and over 100 multiplayer maps to play either online or in skirmish mode.

Do you have what it takes to drag the shattered Global Defense Initiative out of ruin? Or will you crush all who oppose the will of Kane and his Inner Circle? The choice is yours commander.

Hello everyone, today we would like to announce that we are ceasing updates to the current public release, Twisted Insurrection 0.40, in order to begin development on the next internal Version, 0.50. Naturally we will continue to update the current public release to fix any critical bugs or problems that are found in the mean time.

So what do we hope to accomplish in Version 0.50?

We are simply planning to progress through all of our to-do-lists as thoroughly and as quickly as we possibly can, here is a short list of some of the things we are hoping to accomplish with the next release:

  • Additional campaign missions
  • Twisted Dawn campaigns
  • GloboTech's own mini-campaign
  • Completion of more faction structure artwork
  • Unit revision (add or replace units)
  • Further and more thorough bug fixing
  • Many more multiplayer maps
  • Better or improved client options and features
  • Some more cinematics for campaign missions
  • New aditions to the TI OST

Twisted Dawn mode originally started out as a way to exaggerate the timeline progression during our campaigns, but after introducing the Twisted Dawn game mode option to the skirmish menu, we have received quite a lot of requests and questions regarding expanding upon the game mode. Well, we're happy to announce that the next version will include the first batch of Twisted Dawn campaign missions, some of you have probably seen this already, but here is our first teaser image of the first TD GDI Mission, featuring our first official naval voxel by ErastusMercy.

As of this exact moment, there are a couple of GDI TD missions in progress, we also have a couple of missions for the Twisted Insurrection timeline in progress too, one of which being GDI Mission 16: Rise of the Phoenix. As also mentioned above, we would like to add more music and cinematics to the mod to add some additional depth and atmosphere. Yesterday, Henskelion finalized a new Nod Logo cinematic for campaign and mission purposes which will be included in the next release.

So once again, aside from the fixing of bugs and other errors located in the public version, no more updates will occur as all of our focus is now going to be on the next release. More updates, news and media to come soon. Thanks for reading and keep your eyes open!

I encountered a version mismatch issue with OpenTK.dll.config file after I updated to 0.40.29. Looks like it wasn't downloaded to the 'Map Renderer' folder properly.

I encountered a weird... problem...

I was playing the old units, I had a nod APC against a building and hit to have everyone exit the vehicle, the first passenger came out just fine. The rest spawned in the air above it and fell to their very bloody deaths much like units on a collapsing bridge.

Don't get me wrong this was hilarious, but you may want to fix that.

Aro Aug 14 2015 replied:

This is a bug that has carried over from Tiberian Sun. I assume you loaded infantry into the APC while on a bridge? This causes the game to think that the infantry are still on bridges when they are deployed from the APC which causes the strange error you mentioned occuring. So it's nothing that is the fault of the TI, but the retarded base game.

Hopefully we'll come by a fix for it one day.

Yup definitely when loading on a bridge...

And the reinforcements you ordered sir? *splat splat splat splat*

Komrade-Buchino Aug 13 2015 says:

I was wondering if there was a chance that on one of the maps you make, if you could take a request.

Pretty much I want to be able to build a medium base (Two refineries, two war factories, two barracks, and all the rest) bu in a blatform designed for bases. Like, on opposite sides of the map you have areas designed for bases, and that would fit with base props. And maybe somewhere in the middle a small run down type base, or a Globaltech outpost, and all the rest is a redzone hell-on-earth type deal with tiberium infection.

Just a request, but what I'd like to see is just maps where you can make a pretty base with props and gates and walls.

Aro Aug 13 2015 replied:

Yeah, we would like to make more maps like this for players and decorative base builders too. Q45 and I already began working on a few, Fortification is the first one that is finished and in-game.

Komrade-Buchino Aug 18 2015 replied:

Fortification was interesting but I found it a little much with the tunnels going everywhere, still well done on everything. If I get the time I'll try messing around with the map editor, see what i can pull up.

Hello, I've encountered a problem with Nod mission 16 Eagles Fall - after ally created 2 bases FPS started to drop, and after some time it dropped really hard - it's like playing on Very Slow game speed when it's actually supposed to be Fast. I've tried disabling Alpha lights and reducing detailing, but it didn't help. Is something can be done about it?

Aro Aug 11 2015 replied:

Hi. Thanks for reporting the problem, we're still making some updates and improvements to Nod Mission 16 to increase it's performance and speed. Another update will be due soon to attempt to fix some more of the lag issues. In the mean time, once the game starts dropping speed, try saving the mission and then loading it again, this refreshes the game and should increase the performance.

SteelSerpent Aug 12 2015 replied:

Mission needs to be restarted from the beginning or I just can load a save? Because FPS still drops.

Anyways, after the update I've loaded one of the older saves and noticed that first of all FPS dropped right after I made an infiltration via Subterranean APC to the small part of GDI base on south-west, with lots of Silos, 2 refineries, landing zone for Orca transports and a bridge to main base.

In order for the latest changes to take effect, you will need to start the mission again I'm afraid, yes. One thing we did was remove one of the GDI bases in order to cut down the lag. 4/5 staff members tested with no lag at all, some issues may still be there but we'll keep looking!

A really stunnning mod for the new graphical power alone. What the team had to do to make Tiberian Sun comply with these new effects, I don't even want to know, because it most likely has to involve human sacrifice. Cities look like what was promised before the release of TS by Westwood and the Tiberium lifeforms are as strange and varied as they should have been, even outdoing Firestorm's alien feeling. A few times I thought the units needed more balancing, but overall, every unit feels like it…
