The year is now 2037. The Tiberian World now stands with a very uncertain fate. The two most powerful and influential forces on the planet are trapped in a never ending dead lock of war and combat. Whilst the Global Defense Initiative has suffered many blows and military defeats, the faction itself still stands strong and has shown the world its amazing ability to endure harsh punishments and has recovered much lost ground. The Brotherhood of Nod has struggled and triumphed over its enemies, only for its victory to be short lived by the death of Kane the Messiah, causing an ever lasting deterioration through the Brotherhood and leading to defeats and chaos amongst the large faction. With the end of the First Tiberian War comes the dawn and age of a new, second Tiberian War, with new terrifying possibilities and potential. The fate of Earth lies dangerously unknown.

Twisted Insurrection 0.40 Twisted Insurrection

- What is Twisted Insurrection? -

Twisted Insurrection is a stand alone modification of Tiberian Sun, meaning you don't need to own Tiberian Sun to play. The mod features a completely new in-depth story-line which puts you in an alternate timeline where the Brotherhood of Nod were victorious during the first Tiberian War rather than GDI; After the Brotherhood used the Ion Cannon to destroy an irreplaceable monumental structure, the Global Defense initiative lost all UN support leaving them in total disarray. This is where our story begins.

Along with the complete overhaul and replacing of the original games graphics and having it's own all new soundtrack, Twisted Insurrection brings you all new units, infantry and naval forces to command as either The Brotherhood of Nod or the Global Defense Initiative in both singleplayer and multiplayer missions along with all new structures and base defenses to build as well! The mod also introduces the GloboTech corporation and contains all new campaigns for both GDI and Nod, plus some additional bonus challenge missions and several hidden maps so there is always plenty more to play. TI also features all new game-modes and over 100 multiplayer maps to play either online or in skirmish mode.

Hello everyone, today we are pleased to announce that our latest version Twisted Insurrection 0.40 has been released and is now available for Public Download! To Install the new version, simply head over to the download section here on ModDB, download the file, extract the containing Twisted Insurrection folder anywhere on your computer and then run TI_Launcher.exe with Administrator privileges to set-up and play.

Alternatively, if you have Twisted Insurrection 0.39 installed, simply run, simply launch it and the client will prompt you about the new version being available, once it does, agree to download the file and let the client take care of everything for you, however it might be faster for you to download the full version manually depending on PPM's download speed.

Twisted Insurrection 0.40

Version 0.40 has been through a large number of changes since our last news post was put up showcasing the new changelog. For a complete list of changes, both minor and major, read the changelog here. Here is a breif summary of the new features that Version 0.40 brings to the table:

  • Improved Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 support and compatibility
  • Some large changes to the Twisted Insurrection Client
  • New client themes, bug fixes and many new options available
  • Re-compiled and lighter files for better optimization and performance
  • A new campaign mission and many fixes and updates to current missions
  • Lots of new maps added to the Multiplayer Map pool
  • Plenty of in-game bug fixes and balance changes
  • Lots of in-game graphical updates on terrain, props and some units
  • Removed lots of unused or broken code and fixed a common Internal Error
  • Lots of new additions to the Twisted Insurrection Soundtrack
  • Some new and improved unit voiceovers
  • New structures available in for Twisted Dawn
  • Changes made to all three AI types in Skirmish mode
  • Both optimised and added some new sound effects
  • Plenty of new animations and effects added and optimized some older ones

We hope you all enjoy the new verion as much as we've enjoyed working on it! Please note that this is not considered a final release, meaning that bugs and errors are a possibility. We are always looking for feedback and thoughts from the fans and the players so if you have any thoughts, ideas or want to report any errors you have come across, please feel free to share them with us! there is a lag issue on nod mission 16 despite the changes but it happened when u hijack the mammoths

Probably has to do with main base making more MKII; I've seen them producing more than one Mammoth.

It is intentional that the AI builds more than 1 Mammoth on N16, it is a Mammoth Production facility after all. :P

As for the lag issue, yes, this seems to be an ongoing struggle. When we make one fix, another problem pops up. We'll nail this eventually.

This was fine actually, though they released four mammoths at once, and then no more until the game hit lagfest... I was still able to bomb three and capture a forth. But yeah four at once is not fun if you're not prepared with 9 bombers...

I encountered a version mismatch issue with OpenTK.dll.config file after I updated to 0.40.29. Looks like it wasn't downloaded to the 'Map Renderer' folder properly.

I was playing the old units, I had a nod APC against a building and hit to have everyone exit the vehicle, the first passenger came out just fine. The rest spawned in the air above it and fell to their very bloody deaths much like units on a collapsing bridge.

Don't get me wrong this was hilarious, but you may want to fix that.

This is a bug that has carried over from Tiberian Sun. I assume you loaded infantry into the APC while on a bridge? This causes the game to think that the infantry are still on bridges when they are deployed from the APC which causes the strange error you mentioned occuring. So it's nothing that is the fault of the TI, but the retarded base game.

Hopefully we'll come by a fix for it one day.

A really stunnning mod for the new graphical power alone. What the team had to do to make Tiberian Sun comply with these new effects, I don't even want to know, because it most likely has to involve human sacrifice. Cities look like what was promised before the release of TS by Westwood and the Tiberium lifeforms are as strange and varied as they should have been, even outdoing Firestorm's alien feeling. A few times I thought the units needed more balancing, but overall, every unit feels like it…
