Hello everyone, welcome to the end of March news roundup. This has quite possibly been the most productive month in the history of our development thanks to some motivational boosts and some great plugs such as being featured on Frank Klepacki's website, so much has has happened and many new assets have been created so we are very pleased to show them off to you. First things first however, the next release has been dubbed Version 0.6 due-to the amount of work that has been developed since the release of Version 0.4, we are aiming for the public release during the month of May.

One of the things we talked about after the release of the last public version was the introduction of some campaign missions to expand upon the Twisted Dawn half of Twisted Insurrection. As of this news post, there are a total of 7 Nod campaign missions completed and ready for the public version. We may manage to squeeze out a few more, but for now the GloboTech campaign is taking the highest slot on the priority list. Here are a few screenshots and a short promotional trailer for the upcoming TD Nod campaign.





On top of the Twisted Dawn campaign missions, we've been working on some for the Twisted Insurrection timeline too. Most of the missions that have already been completed frequently get updated and improved over the course of time as the mod develops, so if it's been a while since you played them, we advise giving them another try! In addition to what is already there, we have a couple of new bonus missions, one of which is called Reaper Raid. GloboTech campaign missions are still under development, but we'll be sharing updates as they come!

Get a look at some previews of new missions and a glimpse at some overall terrain improvements below, also including all three faction sidebars.



Some miscellaneous graphical additions such as new atmospheric TerrainTypes, a new GDI Command Center image and a new client option to increase infantry size if you desire have all been implemented this month too. We have also completed two new map remakes for the next public release, one of which is Pyroclasm from Red Alert 3 and the other is a remake of East VS Best from Yuri's Revenge (under the new name Ghastly Creek), pictured below.



And last, but not least, are of course the new additions to the Twisted Insurrection Original Soundtrack. If you follow development progress regularly, you have likely already heard the news that one of our tracks "Space Echo" was remixed by none other than Frank Klepacki himself, and we are very proud of it, so here it is again for those of you that may not have gotten around to listening to it yet (you should, it's Klepacki's work after all!).


This of course gave most of us a much needed motivation kick up the ass, hence all of the progress above this month! This also inspired the development of some more music too. Two new tracks have been completed and both serve as replacements for older and lesser quality tracks in our Soundtrack (Act on Insurrection and Sandstorm). Here are the new tracks to take their place: Act on Insurrection 2.0 and Disturbance (which was featured on the official Tiberium Alliances Facebook page)!

How should I name the archive with a small patch so it will override the core files and won't be deleted upon launching (tried expand03.mix, but it gets deleted each time I start the mod)? I'm making a translation (almost done it actually, only some briefings are left) and I want to make its files independent from ecache00.mix file of yours. Also, where can I place the Tutorial.ini and Rules.ini so it will override the default ones but not replace them?

Try something usually unused, a high number like expand91.mix or something similar should do.

Rules.ini and Tutorial.ini cannot be overriden without replacing them.

Odd, but expandXX.mix crashes the game (it doesn't launch saying TI failed to initialize), while ecacheXX.mix works just fine. Thanks for the tip.

I just found out about this mod 2 days ago. I really wanted to say what an incredible mod this is, seriously, you guys put in so much work on this mod it is just ridiculous. This & TSR are the most polished mods for TS, and I think TI takes the bar much higher than TSR does. This has got to be one of the most well made and immersive mods for any game ever, let alone in the C&C series. It does everything right. Period.

I did want to ask though, do you guys have any plans on making original models for both GDI and Nod's Con. Yard's and Nod's Refinery (stock TS art)? At this point since nearly every other building is using your own original art model's, when playing as Nod, the Con Yard and Refinery just don't fit in with the rest of the base aesthetically anymore, it's not too bad, or anything really worth complaining about at all, but I feel like if they had original models instead of the original TS models, it would help just finish the overall immersion of the mod and seal the deal. They somehow just don't fit in with the rest of your models anymore.

Just my 2 cents

But again, this is one of the most badass mods of all time. Fantastic job guys. Loving this.

Not planned. It's pretty hard to make videos when the whole team is separated around the world, plus the acting would likely be so terrible that you wouldn't want to watch the videos anyway =P

I have a suggestion for GDI Mission 7 (the one where you recover the prototype): first, the loading screen breefing says about "RAILGUN commando" which is no longer relevant - needs updating; second: would be nice if the prototype looked like a prototype and not like a generic GDI model - that's how I've implemented it with some voxel editing and map editing:

Basically I've recolored the model and replaced the 42 number with stripes (since it is a prototype after all, it can't have a proper number other than 01, 02 or something like that). After that I've edited the map so Railgun Platform will use a different voxel model.

Also, I think the GDI mission 14 is too difficult on "Easy" difficulty, distracting Obelisk fire with your MCV is counter-intuitive and not every newcomer will ever think of risking such a valuable asset. I'd recommend you to either add a HINT: about it, or allow to get into one of the outposts using a more conventional way.

Hey, loading screen breefing DOSEN'T say about "RAILGUN commando" as long as I know.

By the way, in Nod mission 8(Zero Gravity) Nod use anti-gravity technology to make inferno tanks. It conflicts with the description "derived from the Tacitus".

Yep, it doesn't say "RAILGUN commando" indeed, it was GDI Challenge 02 which does (while also uses the Shotgun Commando). It does, however, say the weapon of the Commando uses the same technology as the Railgun Platform:

Flawless work, Commander, as always. Now the Nod scum know that we won't go down without a fight! Your skills are now required for another important mission.
GloboTech has informed us of a new prototype railgun platform that must be retrieved. This weapon utilizes electrical current to propel a solid state slug at extreme velocities, allowing it to easily punch through armour. Unfortunately, Nod has captured the GloboTech laboratory that holds the prototype and design documents. Your mission is to recapture the lab as soon as possible.
Be wary of the Nod base in the area -- they must not become aware of your presence.

Translation? Did you translate the mod itself or just its text (like breefings) to be placed on some site about TI or something? If the former, then where did you find the loading screen breefings? I'm doing a test version of Russian translation myself (not every thing is going smooth however):

Latter is what I'm doing. I just translated the briefings, unit description or what else needed for wiki documents(goo.gl/DaLsjx). I've created high-quality documents about TI and walkthrough.(GDI campaign is finished and nod campaign is in progress)
If there're many people liking and playing TI in korea, I will try to put all into korean.
And about the loading screen briefings, I couldn't find it. At first, I thought these'd be in Mission.ini but there aren't.

A really stunnning mod for the new graphical power alone. What the team had to do to make Tiberian Sun comply with these new effects, I don't even want to know, because it most likely has to involve human sacrifice. Cities look like what was promised before the release of TS by Westwood and the Tiberium lifeforms are as strange and varied as they should have been, even outdoing Firestorm's alien feeling. A few times I thought the units needed more balancing, but overall, every unit feels like it…
