nice, and the drones are a great addition. not quite sure what they were going with for the original pads that just lit up.

Its the same as in TD and RA, so I guess they just ran with the theme.

I think it was a design/technical issue.
Units can move on top of the pad from all sides, so any roof would be impossible since you can have any impassable columns on the building.

The original TS repair bay however has a small building on the northwest side, which causes visible render layer issues if a unit is moving over this.
The TS one however also has a small repair arm (crane) which unfolds/extends from the small NW building when repairing a unit, so not only a lit up anim of the pad. ;)

I always liked to think that those platforms had some kind of nanobots, that just were to expensive to add to the vehicles or structures, but that still were interesting to be contained on one structure so they will have the chance to repair all kinds of vehicles with no effort or the chance to lost that valuable bots/tech.

Very stylish. Fits well with the rest of the building scheme!

Well, I expected it to look different, somewhat like the cargo bay "floor" of the Refinery and also more colorful. I feel like the base could use some contrast color detail (like some light metal inserts here and there), but it looks nice when animated. Also, nice idea with the drones, but red and yellow sparks usually appear on damaged units, so what if they were blue and white instead? Overall, nice to see Nod buildings set moving closer and closer to being completed.

I see your point.
Since the pad is very flat, there aren't such nice reflections and light effects possible as on the other more round Nod buildings. I think if other colors/textures would be used, it could look very quick out of place compared to the other Nod buildings.

The sparks are supposed to be welding sparks from the repair drones. That's why i made them yellow/orange/red.
Blue/white would look strange imo. Not much cobalt in the armors metal alloys. ;)

Well, will see how it will look like in game, if anything I'll replace the colors of sparks myself for personal use :P

BTW, the "hatches" overlap with the voxel when the drones fly out of the pad, is it possible to give the hatches a separate animation which will be drawn under the voxel?

No, unfortunately only possible as a single anim with one fixed render layer, either all above or all below the unit.
Will have a look again at the art.ini code, but i doubt we can fix that.

Though the harv is a rather big/long unit and even there only a tiny bit overlapping. Should be better for most other units.

To be fair, I think Titanium sparks white, but that seems more like an aircraft thing...

The Harvester may be big, but the player can also have GDI units which are even bigger (mostly the case in missions) and GloboTech units which aren't small either. And if the "small vehicle graphics" option isn't enabled then even certain Nod vehicles will be big (like the Hammerhead).

Also, it seems GDI repair pads can't repair Nod aircraft and hover units, and vise versa for Nod pads, is it a bug? Not sure if it happens all the time, but I remember such issues in campaign.

The key RepairBay= is hardcoded to accept only a single value (a single buildingID). In TI that is the GDI repair bay.
Only the building set on RepairBay= is able to repair aircraft.

Unless one of the exe dissambling and editing professionals codes a fix for it, we can't do anything about that engine limitation.

You can use the repair vehicle to repair aircraft anyway.

Siiiiiiiick

Will the twisted dawn version use robotic arms or be a different adaptation of the classic style?

The new image for the Nod Repair Bay has been completed by LKO. The animations in the GIF have been tweaked for the in-game version but we felt that the brighter preview showcased the structure better than on a darker map, you can check out the final and improved animations in this GIF instead: Ppmforums.com
