Whoa, nice 3D render of the GDI mobile command center. It even has Frank Klepacki's name on it!

My guess...Heavy Metal, a full, second Twisted Insurrection OST, all made by Frank Klepacki? :D

Sounds like GDI is finally getting the 16th mission. And even if they don't, would be cool to see the Kodiak (Klepadiak? Kodiaki?) in the game.

This however contradicts the lore even further. GDI, being the losers of the war, with their main bases destroyed, are not only able to effectively fight back, but are also able to maintain R&D of very complex projects and maintain such complex and expensive vehicles on the battlefield (walkers aren't easy to maintain, especially if you don't have global network of operations bases as the loser of the war). And now they suddenly have this? Nod doesn't even have the Montauk despite being the winners who conquered half of the world, and they let a super-mega corporation (GT) build entire cities unnoticet. Brotherhood? What a bunch of losers :P

GDI might have lost in TI, but it wasn't completely wiped out. With lots of it left intact and also support by independent companies like GT, it's well likely to get the tech for such a ship.

Initially I'd thought this was just a tribute image to Frank Kelpacki, however you're insinuations have prompted me to write this response.

Considering the circumstances, the TS design of the Mammoth Mark 2 being in TI is already a stretch. Yet this Orca Command Craft also somehow turns out to be identical in design to its TS counterpart, I find that incredibly unlikely.

Even if GloboTech built such a vehicle in this time-line the design would surely differ. Then there is the question of Nod's air superiority, could they field such a massive aircraft? Doubtlessly it would have a hard time getting off the ground unnoticed (which in of itself could make for an interesting mission).

Maybe the scientists/engineers that designed it for GDI in TS ended up working for GT in this alternate timeline.

Even though Nod "Won," and GDI, with its funding axed, was about to be on the receiving end of a -proper- Białystok-style reaming, it doesn't mean it's all sunshine and rainbows for The Brotherhood.
They were now, likely more than ever, a known violent terrorist group whose leaders are now almost certainly persons of interest in a certain very high-profile case of hijacking a high-powered orbital particle weapon. And using it.

^This is all me going off of the original ending.
(Well, trying, really, really hard to.)

So, sure Nod ruined their main singular foe's reputation and income, and launched a massive offensive that left huge casualties in its wake, but it's not like the rest of the world is going to be rejoicing over their newfound saviours all of a sudden.
GDI was an international peacekeeping organisation at the time; Blue Helmets,(but) in Heavy Tanks*. Them getting their major orificies remodelled doesn't mean that the countries paying for their stuff are going to like them any more now, they just became incapable of putting up an effective, unified resistance, so they can now be singled out and taken over individually, in time. All while the bulk of their attention is probably focused on the third world, and GDI is off, skulking and licking its wounds a lot.

*Also, centered more around the G7 countries, apparently.

As those countries fall apart because Nod, green rocks and "OH what the **** happened to that horse!?", new entities (GT) are formed(or grow a lot) by people with lots and lots of money, who very much wouldn't like to be living in the Land of Nod.
As an aside, the (para?)military wing of GT would probably have a lot of former GDI troops for a time.
Especially until the player stabilised their financial situation, which is pretty much all you do for the first third of the campaign; Find shelter, rescue personnel, and secure funding. First by getting in good graces with Globotech then by harvesting them sweet, sweet fields o' Green.
And this includes up to a decade of "And then nothing happened," in-between.

And as for the tech:
GT paid for those. And built them. Same with the uniforms your guys wear. Probably grew all the combat rations your troops consumed till the end of the game, too. I think that last bit is kinda ironic, given the shenanigans that start around mission 10.

And walkers might also handier than they are in real life, what with ever larger portions of the map turning into literal fields of jagged rocks that go up to your ******* knees while you're not looking!
Sure would suck to interrupt a patrol/scouting mission because your path is blocked by the spike strip from hell.

PS: Why can I ever have be concise with these ******* things? :/

So as far as the design of things go many weapons and vehicles exist as they are because they are the best design for the job, like sloped armour on tanks, tanks and aircraft around the world were all designed separately, but look about the same. Having a mobile command center like a Kodiak might always be developed like that due to restrictions in propulsion technology, and things like, command deck location, aerodynamics. Further designs like this could be from the first war, and rediscovered as the technology and funds become available.
As for the campaign
See I always though it went along like this, both campaigns from tiberium dawn occurred. GDI won in eastern europe, thanks to their superb commander. And in Africa Nod won due to their own superb commander. Nod hacks GDIs net and destroys the white house, GDI supposedly kills Kane, and liberates eastern Europe. What happens afterwards is that GDI are left with a compromised network, likely that their operations worldwide are revealed and without any funding. Nod goes on the attack and completely takes over africa, and cripples GDI's offensive capabilities. Countries like Europe and america aren't going to surrender to Nod, NOD just cant start building a empire. But GDI is forced into hiding, and becomes its own nation of sorts.
In the TI campaign GDI is not completely dependent on globotec, they aren't getting their stuff free, they have to pay for it - massed tiberium harvesting for one, and keeping Nod away from globotc cities. Nods inactivity is completely up to your own interpretation - but other than hunting GDI and developing world altering weapons they dont really have much to do. Its possible the UN tried to destroy Nod again and failed, or Nod may of broken into civil war, due to Kanes absence. When GDI and globotec schism, they're on equal footing, in fact GDI would be in a far better situation to battle them, having fully functional bases, and combat experience, and as globotec is a corporation it wouldnt have same sort of territory bases, they would only deploy troops where required - cities, contacts and R&D security (and their commanders would be unprepared for full scale combat). And I like to think globotec submitted to GDI and their assets were absorbed by them upon their defeat.

I actually like to think that TI can fit as a prequel to Tiberium Sun, if GDI is victorious in the end, and the white house gets rebuilt before tiberium wars there's no reason why not
Also sorry for the wall of text ;P

Such a beautiful render, but the background and fire effects off the engine on the other hand...

I didn't feel like creating the entire landscape as a 3d model as well and that was the closest landscape image on google i could find, that closely resembles the landscapes we saw in the TS FMVs (basically Nevada desert near Las Vegas were Westwood shot the outdoor scenes).

If you have better landscape images, feel free to post links to them here.

IMO, the background is absolutely fine, except maybe you could alter the sky to make it look less shiny for an infested world. The exhausts however, look like colored rags, moreso, one would expect the air around the fire to be distorted, with some dust taking off as the craft lands/takes off. Also, shouldn't it use different engines for that?

Cnc.wikia.com

The model is epic, no doubt, but some additional Photoshop editing of the picture won't hurt.

Concerning the engines.
Cnc.wikia.com
That is a version from the Firestorm FMVs, which i think was rendered by a different person/team. Because when i was analyzing every footage i could get to make my model, i noticed several bugs in the Firestorm version (there is for example a scene showing the Kodiak in midair from the side, where the outer tilting engines are moved far to the rear of the main ship, thus completely misplaced).
Youtu.be
check out min 2:27 and notice how you can see the secondary inner engine, while the outer tilting engine should actually be far enough to the front to completely hide the inner engine.

That's why i took mostly TS footage and created the engines like in the original TS FMV.

I understand, I was just providing some criticism. It's not that the scenery doesn't match, it's that the styles don't. The Klepacki is just so much crisper, cleaner, and stylized than the background and fire effects.

I like constructive criticism, so don't worry and keep on commenting :)

Fire effects: they weren't actually made for such a wallpaper issue. I was just lazy to not create some real looking stuff, which would have taken quite a while for me to find the right settings in 3ds max. (and tbh, there are other more important things left to do than a little teaser image ;) )

Background: i'm serious, if you find some good images, please link them here. I found it hard to find good looking images. 2 hour search, only 5 acceptable images found with this being closest to TS scenery and having an acceptable layout for rendering the model into it.

As a scenery i would like:
-rocky hills/mountains in the background
-desert/barren ground with a few rocks and plants as scale references
-a flat area in the foreground (over which the 3d model is placed)
-a little hill or rock (no plant with many fine leaves, borders, holes) with a sharp border right in front of the camera that covers a part of the flat area. This can then partially cover the rendered model behind it, thus sorting the model visually better into the image and giving it more depth

@Damfoos: i'm not experienced with Photoshop, so i like to do everything in 3ds max and only tiny edits with GIMP afterwards.
