It's interesting, is that there to provide more protection for the bridge? Wouldn't protecting a sensitive area of the ship with something loaded with explosives be counterproductive?
well according to canon torpedos have to be armed, they also detonate themselves, which is why they hit shields with a large yield but theres no explostion.
