I like that ship... It's cool... I want to crash it into an SSD...
The Excalibur has always been the big guy.^^
I remember countless Mods using it as the "Big enough to kill anything" ship.
I think it fits this role quit good, but is a little overpowered (haven't seen it fighting against Imperial SDs so far but I think it could easily destroy 1-3 of them).
I think this ship is a piece of ship as it is: to big, to slow, looks like ****: and most importantly, IT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST!
The problem is that starfleet needs a ship to counter the other "big bad guys" or it would become unbalanced.
As for the design I kinda like it but I don't think the "real" starfleet would even consider making a ship like this.

no it isnt, the Excalibor started as a non canon ship in a mod for BC
I have a question I never found the Excalibur class in Star Trek canon or ship database does it exists in Star Trek Nemesis ?
In the movie the ship is supposed to be a Sovereign class (Enterprise E)
you know, i'm a big fan of star trek as well as star wars, i grew up watching both. and i know this i justa game but the fact is, federation ships would stand little chance against a star destroyer for one simple fact. the federation has been around for what? 300 years. granted in that time they have made great leaps in tech but lets look at the empire and before that the republic, whcih stood for 25,ooo years. one government one multi culture. before that the rakata infinite empire rulled the galaxy for 10,000 years. so you have one side thats been in space for 300 yrs the other with space tech for at least 25,000. its safe to say that one side would be far more advanced than the other. the federation would be hopelessly outclassed.
Yeah but the star wars tech really has not improved much. In fact, it sometimes decreases (like the jedi and sith using spears and carts during the rise of darth Bane, when they had way better tech during the jedi civil war.) The fact is that over 25,000 years, they have not made the leaps that others have.
