Tides of War: The Clone Wars still needs help with development in order to reach a completed state. As of now, there are only two staff members working on the mod, with much more additional help required to create a comprehensive and enjoyable mod.

If you have any modding skills that you can bring to the table in an effort to get this mod completed and ready for players then please step forward. Over 95% of all physical assets (models, textures, etc.) are already complete and ready for game implementation. That said, there is still much to be done to polish off what has the potential to be a very immersive and enjoyable mod for the community. Specifically, we're looking for (in order):

1) Star System/Space Station Scripter: Freelancer's engine uses a relatively intuitive design for creating star systems and dockable solars (space stations, shipyards, etc.). With this said, though intuitive in nature, this is a very time intensive process in addition to requiring a medium of creativity in designing layouts for star systems. Most all of the star systems for the mod have preliminary designs completed on paper/images but still require in-game design implementation.

2) General Coder/Scripter: Even more intuitive than system and solar scripting is general ship, weapon, equipment, and commodity scripting. Again, a simple system, but a time-intensive task of adding all the necessary scripting to the game for the purposes of making all of our great models flyable and usable in the game.

Once more, this mod needs further help to complete development. Please, if you have skills and are looking for a project, step up to the plate now!

Tides of War is a completely different, and dead, mod.

Tides of War as a whole merged with Freeworlds. I contribute to the Freeworlds: Tides of War mod but I am not a full-time developer on it.

This is my only project and only focus at the moment. :)

ahhh i have to correct a mistake you have made in your picture about the Venator, it is not a star destroyer, it is only a heavy cruiser, G. Lucas said so himself to a fan in an interview, and it also states that it is only a cruiser in many of the clone-wars books, in the new animated movie and series, hell it says so in the new star wars game "republic heros"

Per Star Wars.com:

"Type:
Cruiser (Venator-class Star Destroyer)"

Starwars.com

The classification system ambiguity in Star Wars is so rife with inconsistencies that it's hard to make heads or tails of what different authors and directors were truly trying to get across in their productions.

Also "Star Destroyer" is not a class so much as it is a name used by KDY in their product line.

Are you aware that Lucas himself signs off on everything Star Wars?

That in and of itself means Lucas has no idea what he's talking about.

Additionally, the Consular-class is aptly named "Republic Cruiser" in 90% of references. If the Venator is a "Venator Cruiser" then it would stand to reason these two ships would then be 100% equal to one another.

Lucas logic = broken beyond belief.

The balance system in this mod is designed around fair gameplay and to separate the roles between ships. As such, I'm not changing it.

Enjoy your day everyone. :D

Hey I was argueing in favor of your response. What I was saying that it is useless to say what is and isn't canon if your not going to accept that you have Lucas saying Star Wars Christmas Special is canon.

Star Destroyer is a classification of the capability of the ship to do system level control, technically the Providence is a star destroyer, the venator, the 600m gladiator from Force unleashed etc

I believe Leeland Chee addressed this in one of his blogs on starwars.com

so the Venator is a 'Cruiser' and a 'Star Destroyer' now what that actually means in relation to other vessels is very ambigious
