For those unfamiliar with TA: Escalation (TA:ESC), we like to think of our effort as a production quality expansion to Total Annihilation which can be enjoyed in both Skirmish and Multiplayer settings. TA:ESC offers significant enhancements to the venerable TA gaming engine, including Cavedog quality models, textures, and presentation - a feat claimed by many, but realized by none; new GUI and extended menus; unique upgrading system for defenses and resources; deflective Shield Generators; mass unit Teleportation Gates; automated mass loading and unloading transports; Multi-Unit-Air-Transports; proximity bonuses for adjacent Fusions and Energy Storages; Surfaceable subs; walking ships; Omni Intel Towers capable of massive radar, jamming, LOS, targeting, and Commander hacking; and much, much more!

Description

ESC 6.8 is now linked with the TA Community Patch and is designed to work with the just released 3.9.02 version. Aside from many subtle engine improvements (superior pathfinding being a standout), players also now have access to a strategic level view of the battlefield via the ‘MegaMap’ recently engineered by xpoy! The MegaMap augments all of the features found in the MiniMap and even allows players to select and operate individual units! Be warned, however, MegaMap is very CPU intensive and is not intended to fully replace regular TA viewing mode while playing. It is, like ESC still a work in progress, but we hope you enjoy it and find it useful. Next, Beta 6.8 includes a number of powerful new units and concepts, including: Arm Condor – T3 VTOL Transport Arm Vanguard and Core Flail - T3 AA Core Ambassador – T3 Mobile Teleportater! Core Beholder - T3 Observation station Oh, and a whole bunch of all new Advanced Hovercrafts are in as well!

We try to accommodate everyone, but we did base ESC off legit CD and gog.com installs. You can manually copy the base folders from TOTALA into the new TA Escalation folder though which works fine. Stop over at the Tauniverse.com if you need help. :)

You should get a legit copy, its like $5 at GOG, and I think it includes all official expansions etc. And then you don't ever need a physical CD copy again.

i have sadly to say that 6.8 made mod more laggy and choppy, i haven't used big map feature yet,but now game starts to have low framerate at 3 hard AI's in late midgame.

I got a different problem, I got the GOG and Original CD, I tried with the original CD and with the GOG version, from a fresh new install, but for some reason the CORE AI don't let the commander build anything else then Metal Extractors and a good amount of units from both sides won't fire at all. (Happens with the other mods released for the new Patch.)
I use Windows 7 64 Bits.

I have Windows XP sp3, intel core 2 duo, 3gb Ram, gforce GT 8600M. In first 5-10 min game work perfect but after this time me game lag like hell

Hey TAESC guys!

I have not yet had a chance to download your mod yet, but this is exactly what I have been waiting for 10 years! I love this game and go back to it every now and then.

I really appreciate the fact that you guys are doing all this effort to bring the game up to new levels. Keep it up!

My biggest issues with the original game is the AI, was pretty dumb. It looks like you guys are doing some hard work on that. Will TAESC make the AI more intelligent and more of a challenge? In both SP and skirmish?

Thanks either way! I will be following this mod all the way!

cant wait!
i used to create my own units and buildings back in the day
started out changing fbi files (weapons skills stats)
to later making my own weapons and units
from rhino to 3do and scripting
it was a blast!!!
anywayz enjoy the scripting :P
game could use a little work...thats 1 bar to high for me :P

if u having issues on 3d0 files an stuff...just get hpi repack
get the 3d0 file u missing via google (search unit ufo file)
extract en repack the 3d0 file into ur ta unit.ufo file...
assuming u got all units packd into 1 big file
