TO:Crossfire Encrypted Client PreRelease! news

The release of the Encrypted Client Package is done strictly via BitTorrent. If you dont know what BitTorrent is, check this page. This is to reduce the needed bandwidth for hosters and guarantee you a fast download. We know how annoying it is to start 3 simultaneuos downloads just to see 2 go down at 90% because the server died in a loud "bang" - we want to spare you this experience.

For Windows Users only we included special versions of the rK DemoWatcher by mouz|daddy to allow you playing TO:Crossfire Demos with one click (more info see here) plus the TO Screenshot Converter by Magnoon to spare you the work of cropping the scoreboard out of your screenshots for clanwar reports.

The Encrypted Client Package is passworded with a strong password! (hence the name). On April 28th we will start a big release party on our IRC channel (#to-crossfire @ GameSurge) and put the password into the topic, minutes later onto our website.

The Server Version of TO:Crossfire Public Beta 1 is currently on hold. The requirements for a TO:Crossfire Public Beta 1 server are:

• A computer/server running Windows/Linux/MacOSX
• Unreal Tournament 2004 Dedicated Server v3339 (872MB) (Mirror)
• Unreal Tournament 2004 Patch v3369.2 (24MB) (Mirror)
• If your server is running on an AMD64 platform, you will need this specific patch too: ut2004-ucc-linux-amd64-3369-fixed-webadmin (Mirror).

Detailed installation instructions are included within the packs but if you need help setting up your server, feel free to ask for help on our forums. A detailled Readme for the TO:Crossfire Server Installation will be available in the following days.

UPDATE: We had to remove the server package for now as we ran into some troubles. We're currently working hard on solving the issues, expect more information soon.

If you are a commercially hosting more than 20 gameservers and are having trouble with your servers, please send us a Private Message on the forums and we will give you access to a secure IRC channel. Please include proof that you are an employee of a serious hosting company. (Like registering on our forums with the email adress of your company)
