I like the model, the design look somewhat fresh. but are those green section on the model the house colors? in my opinion a model look better when the house color areas r reduced to the minimun, but thats me.

That's an armor upgrade.

The high profile seems a bit dated. I prefer EA's sleek TW Mammoth Concept.

I never liked mammoth tanks with a high profile, it makes them look stealthy and weak IMO, the exact contrary to what it should be in my eyes.

But you MADE one with a high profile. oO

Modern tanks have a low profile to reduce their target profile and have armor sloped more to better deflect the force of a hit.

Wait...****, I should stop writing when I'm still tired >.<

What I meant to say is, I never liked tanks with a low profile >.<

Anyway, I preffer tanks with a relatively high profile because they look more intimidating that way. I mean, what is Not intimidating about a huge monster of doom with 250mm cannons?

So does the new mammoth tank have two upgrades?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

Yes, the armor upgrade is new. It increases resistance, but makes it 10-20% slower

It should decrease the fire power instead, that way the railguns can bring it back up. Making the Mammoth even slower is not very good since it is already slow enough.

The thing is, Armor and Railgun upgrade are separate, you could purchase the Railgun upgrade before the armor upgrade.

instead of the armor upgrade, you should just make an engine upgrade for the tank to make it move faster.

or you could go for both.

Looks similar to Westwood's old Tib. Incursion mammoth tanks they were working on almost a decade ago...

Nice. Have to agree with high profile, it looks like a monster...well, mechanical monster of doom that is.

Those are, or rather, were supposed to be, auto-cannons, but I scrapped them because they'd make it about as powerful as the MKII. Now It's part of a recoil dampening system. 250mm cannons have massive recoil, you know?

i know.. with an ammunition that large it would take a lot of propulsion for it to get to the target.

Mind you, the GDI have a very powerful propellant, and by default all weapons have electromagnetic coils in the barrels which make the gun more powerful.

The Railgun simply takes it to the next level :P

.... if all their guns have electromagnetic coils in them than by definition every gun is already a railgun. maybe the railguns in the game just increase the amount of electricity being used though it always seemed they were using normal gas or gunpowder fired weapons before the railgun upgrade. because railgun = explosives becoming redundant. oh and the higher profile might increase its target profile but it also gives it a better line of site/fire so there are pros and cons with heavy units like the mammoth high profile works so much better they dont have to worry about hits that much

Wrong.

A Railgun uses two conducting rails to fire a conducting slug at huge speed.

A Coilgun uses coils to accelerate a projectile. Use less power, but also are weaker than Railguns.

The standard GDI cannons are Chemical Assisted Magnetic launchers. A combination of coilgun and chemical gun

The GDI Railguns are pure magnetic launchers.
