how does one deal with the SSD blitz right at the beginning of a GC game when playing as the Republic? any faction that has an SSD immediately attacks with them and there is no way that i can tell to counter it.

The New Republic has great fighters and bombers, which are very powerful against SSDs. I'd suggest forming your fleet around ships that have lots of squadrons, such as the endurance carrier and nebula frigate.

Oh, and a simple tip: If outnumbered greatly, attack the AI on a planet they have control of/own a space station at. The AI tends to turn tail and head straight for their station, which means you can pick off some ships while getting minimal losses. It is basically an exploit, but given how much the AI ignores the rules I'd call it even. I believe the TR team said they want to fix this at some point, but for right now at least it works.

Fighters and bombers also go down easy too if out numbered this strategy doesnt work all the time. Simply the NR is under powered

I don't think I've ever been in a battle (out of hundreds...) playing as the NR where I had fewer squadrons than my opponent. Even the small NR ships get loads of squadrons, and given that NR fighters are superior to almost all others, they can be used extremely effectively.

Granted their forces are generally weaker in the earlier eras, but I've found them to be equal to all other factions in 1-3, then in 4-5 they become superior to the other 3 factions.

Of course each faction plays differently, however the NR tends to be the more powerful faction overall, especially if you make good use of the fact that almost all their fighter units have torpedoes, making them effective against larger ships.

Ill give you that. When I play as the NR, which is all the time pretty much,I use every ship strategically. I HATE watching a letsplay of this game where some one isnt using their ships effectively. I still wish the NR had some form of higher strength or even more starting ships some what.
On another note I absolutely hate the hand. Of every faction they're my least favorite. If they ever got removed from the mod I wouldnt miss them lol. Heck even their ground units are OP. That flame tank kills everything and in a realitively fast pace. That air speed, in one pass can nearly destroy any unit.

Hey, when I play as Pentastar Alignment and i have taken Yavin 4 with Jerec and 11 Praetor ship the Imperial Remnant counters with a large fleet with 3 Executors and when i eventually win the battle the game suddenly freezes and stops. It happens everytime I replay the battle, is this a common problem?

If one of the Executors is the leader you may be experiencing a known era change crash. There's a fix available, just look at the news archive on this page.

That is very dependent on the era. In earlier eras, the New Republic (there are no Rebels in the mod) are far more reliant on their fighters and fighter carriers than capital ships. While the MC80B is able to stand up to an ISD, it's more as a tank and used to kill anti-fighter ships while fighters deal damage. In the later eras, the New Republic ships are pretty much the best in the game, and the Imperials have to rely on greater numbers.

Each faction has its own strengths and weaknesses, and those vary based on the timeframe. If you try to play ever faction the same way and expect the same strengths and weaknesses, it won't go super well.

We can't change that stuff without also changing how it works in GC, and GC is a higher priority; pretty much all AI changes in EaW except income rates and multipliers are completely disregarded by the game.

Great mod and with in it makes the game much more appealing and the fact that this game follows after the events of the battle of endor, makes this mod feel like a full expansion to the game as this mod is at times fells more or less like one. To me the mod seems to have put better effort into there work man then the actually developers at times. Many new factions tons of new units and a lot of new worlds, while not every planet from the original game are here it makes up for with at least 50 more…
